The National Underclassmen Combine takes over Belleville East HS this Saturday and Sunday where an exceptional group of players are slated to take the field by storm. The St. Louis region has consistently produced outstanding prospects such as NUC Alum Kraig Appleton and the talent is only getting better.
New Mexico bound Detchauz Wray was one of those St. Louis standouts. The 5'11 166 lb QB was one of the best players at the 09' camp, wowing our coaches with his 34 inch vertical, 9'10 broad jump, 4.47 shuttle, 4.49 40 and exceptional position skills. He will definitely have the opportunity to help out the Lobos in the near future.
Monster lineman Tevin Taylor also put forth a tremendous effort last year at East St. Louis HS. The 6'1 334 lb standout was in a class of his own from a lineman standpoint and has herculean strength.
"Athletes like Wray have long led the way in St. Louis", noted NUC CEO & President David Schuman. "The STL combine is yet to disappoint and we have kids coming from all over to attend, so this year should be terrific."
Current 8th/9th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomores are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors lay it all on the line this Sunday at 1 pm.
All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions. In addition to the elite athletes receiving coverage on Rivals and Espn.com, statistics of every participant will be sent out to colleges at all three levels.
Athletes can sign up for the St. Louis combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP1 for more details.
