Sophomores Show Sensational Promise in Baton Rouge-Football Combines and Football Camps

Sophomores Show Sensational Promise in Baton Rouge!

Zachary HS showcased a plethora of star sophomores last Saturday. The level of competition, determination and willingness to put everything on the line.
Dutchtown HS' Landon Collins put up one of the best performances of  the '10 season. The 5'11.5 199 lb safety had a 35.5 inch vertical, 10'6 broad jump, ran a 4.48 shuttle, bench pressed 155 lbs 24 times and was an absolute stud during 1 on 1's. Collins was physically dominant, quick, had Ed Reed like ball skills and was coachable. Collins has tremendous potential and I would be shocked if he doesn't end up at a big time school.

Teammates Ian Podwtalski and Kyron Jackson (Lutcher) shared the DB MVP award. Both were quick, did a terrific job of covering WR's, had 30+ inch verticals and 8'6+ on the broad jump. Lutcher HS' defense must be  one of the best in Louisiana with these two studs manning down the DB spots.

Jordy Wyble, 5'10 283 (Beau Chene) made a major statement en route to getting the OL MVP. Wyble had a tremendous intensity level and enough mass to making things difficult for opposing linemen during the individual period.

Holden Rogers (Sulphur) was a standout LB. The 5'9 192 lb Rogers had good athleticism (8'5 broad jump, 4.59 shuttle. 4.65 40) was strong (28 reps at 155) and played at a high level during 1 on 1's. His love of the game and willingness to lay everything on the line was impeccable.

Peabody's Jalen Richard ,5'7.5 190, was a terrific athlete and won the RB MVP. Richard had a 33.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.58 shuttle, 4.5 40, bench pressed 155 lbs 23 times and was a monster during 1 on 1's. He  is a solid combo RB and has potential to really do it all.
