Rochester/Buffalo Combine Kicks Off!

The National Underclassmen Combine ventures to the Rochester/Buffalo area for the first time this Saturday at Bishop Kearny HS, where talented 8-11th graders looking to play at the next level will have the opportunity to show what they have to offer.
Those attending the combine will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard  dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions. In addition to the elite athletes receiving coverage on Rivals and Espn.com, statistics of every participant will be sent out to colleges at all three levels.
8-10th graders will have their opportunity to shine 8 am this Saturday, while rising seniors hit the field at1 pm that very same day.

"Football is a pastime to many in the Rochester/Buffalo area", said David Schuman, NUC CEO & President. "The sport's popularity is tremendous at all levels and the fans' support of the Bills even when they are bad is an attribution to this.
One of the area's best, Quentin Gause, is expected to participate. Gause, a talented 6'0 205 lb athlete, starred at a number of NUC events in the past and subsequently received offers from numerous D1 programs.
"The chances of finding more standout athletes becomes higher every time we add an event since not everybody is willing to travel", said Schuman. "Of the new 2010 events, the Rochester/Buffalo event is likely to generate the most participants."
Athletes can sign up for the Rochester/Buffalo combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP1 for more details.

Rising prospects slated to lay it all on the line this weekend in Boston!

Tabor Academy will play host to an action packed combine this weekend, with a plethora of gifted 8-11th graders expected to partake.
Just one year ago at the very same location, Florida bound Tyler Murphy tore up the field from the moment he stepped on it. The immensely talented 6'2 190 lb QB has a 35 inch vertical, runs a 4.38 shuttle, throws a tremendous ball and understands the game. He is your prototypical dual threat.

The 5'9 172 lb safety was a man amongst boys during 1 on 1's, had a 31 inch vertical, ran an impressive 4.09 shuttle and 4.53 40. He is headed cross country this fall, where he will lace up for the University of San Diego.
"Boston is a great sports city and those who don't take their football talent seriously are foolish" said NUC CEO & President David Schuman, who also saw DeVaghn Millington star in 09'. "The athletes that come to play at this combine over the last few years have consistently been impressive."
Other standouts that appear to be headed to a D1 school in the near future are Tabor Academy's very own Jason Sylva, Worcester Academy's Joe Pieterse and Hudson HS' Karl Sery.
"East Coast football is as strong as ever", added Schuman. "As you can see, it is no longer just Rutgers and Boston College recruiting the local athletes."
Current 8th/9th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomore are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors take center stage 1 pm Sunday.
All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard  dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions.

Perry won the OL MVP after holding steady during 1 on 1 drills and bench pressing 185 lbs 20 times. Jacob Ingle (Walter M. Williams) shared the award with him and also has herculean strength. Demetrius Fairley can run, jump and cut across the field. An athletic 5'10 184 lb RB, Fairley had an 8'3 broad jump, ran a  4.42 shuttle, 4.52 40, bench pressed 155 lbs 18 times and really turned his game up a notch during the individual period.
