Riverwood High School is set to showcase what is expected to be a deeply talented "Beat The Heat" combine this weekend in the Atlanta, GA region. For the last few years, The NUC has been running multiple events in Atlanta, as the talent and participation numbers are simply too much to cram into one single weekend.
"Both Atlanta combines are amongst the best we run; period", stated NUC CEO & President David Schuman. "Year after year, the ATL has produced countless stars that have gone onto shine at our Ultimate 100 and Top Prospect camps, so this weekend's event is likely to showcase many new and exciting prospects."
Current 8th/9th graders will take the field at 8 am and sophomores compete at 1 pm Saturday, while juniors look to take their game to the next level 1 pm Sunday.
Earlier this year at the first Atlanta event, David Stevenson made major waves, taking home the Junior session's overall MVP award, while Kent Rollins, Zachary Witchett and Jabari Hunt-Days also wrecked havoc just a few months ago in this talented city.
"Those who know Atlanta football clearly understand why we run two events ", said Schuman. "Anybody who is unaware of the terrific talent level and interest in football in this city would be wise to show up in the crowd this weekend."
A strong statement indeed.
All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions. In addition to the elite athletes receiving coverage on Rivals and Espn.com, statistics of every participant will be sent out to colleges at all three levels.
Those who were not previously selected will also have another chance to earn an invited to the highly touted Ultimate 100 Camp by attending this weekend.
Athletes can sign up for the Atlanta Beat the Heat combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP1 for more details.
