Future Local Stars look to Rock in Memphis!

Memphis' future stars will have a chance to showcase their abilities this weekend at Christian Brothers Academy when the National Underclassmen Combine makes their highly anticipated return to a city known for its talent.
All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard  dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions. In addition to the elite athletes receiving coverage on Rivals and Espn.com, statistics of every participant will be sent out to colleges at all three levels.

Last year, Mississippi bound Carlton Martin took the combine by storm, earning the Overall MVP. The 6'2 268 lb d-tackle was an all around phenom, prompting U Miss to make him an offer just months after the event.
Fellow 09' standout Avery Williamson earned himself a full ride to Kentucky with a tremendous showing at the combine. Williamson is 6'2 220 lbs of mean, thus should be a factor at the next level.
Phenom athlete Brady Earnhardt will be playing for the Army this fall. The 5'8 195 lb Earnhardt runs a 4.32 40, bench pressed 185 27 times, had a 9'2 broad jump and a  33.5 inch vertical just one year ago.
With the aforementioned trio amongst others going on to play at the next level, expectations are high coming into this year.
"Memphis' camp in 2009 was tremendous", said NUC CEO & President David Schuman. "I expect a lot out of these kids this year, especially considering the amount of top notch underclassmen that should be returning."
Current 8th/9th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomores at 1 pm Saturday, while Juniors look to impress 1 PM Sunday.
Athletes can sign up for the Memphis combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP1 for more details.
