MAHWAH, N.J. - The National Underclassmen Combine, the most prestigious high school football testing event in the nation, is proud to announce it will be expanding its Five-Star Showcase events.

Building upon the success of last year's inaugural Five-Star Showcase in Oakland, N.J., the NUC will be bringing the talent-laden football event to seven more locations - Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati, Chicago, Louisiana, South Florida -- in an attempt to broaden the outreach of truly finding "Five-Star" athletes.

Additionally, the NUC will be in charge of player selection in 2012, with President/CEO Dave Schuman and National Recruiting Analyst Barry Every lending their expertise to seeking out the very best high school players in the nation.

"We're looking for Class of 2013 high school athletes that have Division 1 offers and possible under the radar players that we feel can play at the scholarship level," said Tony Centrella, NUC Vice President and Director of Player Personnel. "These athletes have either come through the National Underclassmen program or have been nominated by their high school coaches."

The event is a chance for athletes to prove themselves and compete against other top athletes, with the opportunity to show that they are deserving of the attention of recruiters from standout collegiate programs.

The athletes will be put through a gamut of individual positional drills and then will also compete against one another in one-on-ones.

"It's an opportunity to have the top 100 players in each region showcase their skill sets and compete against the best in the country," said Schuman. "All the MVPs ended up receiving D1 scholarships. 90 percent of players in the top 5 at each position received scholarships. It's a fantastic opportunity to get evaluated by nationalunderclassmen.com, scout.com, 24/7sports.com and Rivals, all in one place."

Coaches are encouraged to fax player nominations at (201) 891-4119. Coaches may email player information to Tony Centrella: tcentrella@nationalunderclassmen.com.
