Kameel Jackson Defies Logic and Beats the Heat in Dallas!

With a full ride to the University of Oklahoma, many athletes in Kameel Jackson's shoes would have forgone attending future combines. From MVP trophies to Ultimate 100 invites en route to making the inaugural Top Prospect camp, he accomplished everything imaginable by our standards; but the 6'0 198 lb phenom is only looking to get better, which is quite scary if you think about it.
Less than two months after winning the Overall MVP at Dallas' first combine, The Sam Houston HS product starred once again. He had a 9'9 broad jump, ran a 4.48 shuttle, the swagger of the champion and 1 on 1's skills far beyond his competitors. He has Chris Carter like hands, runs routes like Larry Fitzgerald, has exceptional moves and breakaway speed. Simply put, Jackson is close to flawless and is likely become a superstar at U of OK.
Josh Hunt (Tyler Street) won the Overall MVP honors of this session and refused to be in anybody's shadow. The 6'0.5 204 lb linebacker is physical, quick and a hard worker. Athletically, he did a good job as well, with an 8'7 broad jump and 4.58 also powering his terrific performance. His intensity level and skill should help him land a spot at a notable program in the Fall of 2011.
Treyvon  Green (Rowlett) is a gifted running back and light on his feet. The 5'9 195 lb prospect has solid strength, a 30 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump and ran a 4.36 shuttle. During the individual drills, Green's footwork were first in class, he had terrific hands and also ran nice routes. He is perfectly fit to be a combo back, making him that much more dangerous than the majority of his competitors.
Jackson's Teammate DeManuel Brown (5'9.5 190) won the LB MVP honors, making him yet another terrific athlete from Sam Houston that we have seen in recent history. Brown was an absolute beast during 1 on 1's, gets on the ball quickly, ran a 4.50 shuttle and bench pressed 185 lbs 20 times.
Sophomores Show the Future is Now!

Mesquite Horn's DeVante Harris (5'8 137) was led a pack of talented sophomores last Sunday at John Paul HS. During 1 on 1's, all eyes were on him, as his quick release, good hands, solidly ran routes and consistency made him hard to ignore. Harris was also a great tester, with a 34.5 inch vertical and 9'1 broad jump to boot. His lack of size will concern programs, but his talent is undeniable.
LB MVP Blake McCown (Texas) ran the show on D during the 1 on 1's and was an exceptional athlete. The 5'10 200 lb standout had a 35.5 inch vertical, 9'1 broad jump, ran a 4.19 shuttle and bench pressed 155 lbs 31 times. While competing with against the rb's, McCown played physically, moved well, had great awareness and a high football IQ. He has all the makings of a star.
Co-LB MVP Brandon Crump (Jenks HS) made it impossible for NUC staff to give the award just to one player. The 5'10 198 lb sensation's footwork was second to none, he had great explosiveness and solid strength, making QB's think twice before putting the ball in his direction. His athleticism is also honorable, with a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'2 broad jump, 4.40 shuttle run, 4.61 40 and 36 reps at 155 lbs on the bench press. Crump is all around awesome.
The Freshman's Very Best
Derek Deiter of Frisco HS is an outstanding pure athlete and a very good running back. The 5'8.5 178 lb rising sophomore has nimble feet, good hands, awesome moves and was dripping sweat after a hard day's work. The honorable Deiter also had a 30 inch vertical, 8'6 broad jump, ran a 4.22 shuttle, 4.63 40 and bench pressed 135 lbs 21 times. Make sure to keep an eye out for Dieter in the next few years.
Ryan Rhodes looks to be on the path to success after winning the Freshman MVP and Fastest Man awards. The 5'10 166 lb wide receiver stood out during 1 on 1's with good hands, impressive strength and tightly ran routes. With a 33.5 inch vertical and 8'11 broad jump, he also displayed the ability to grab the jump ball. His 4.56 shuttle and 4.62 40 also helped him break away from the DB's during an all around impressive day.
