Roberson leads the pack in Pittsburgh!

Roberson leads the pack in Pittsburgh!
Penn Hills' Terrell Roberson comes from a region where football is literally some people's lives. The sport's popularity and demand to be played at the highest level often adds unnecessary pressure, even to some of the best players around. Thankfully, standouts like Roberson know how to bring their A game when it matters.
Roberson, an immensely gifted running back, won the Overall MVP after an unforgettable day at the combine. Roberson was all the above athletically, with a 34.5 inch vertical, 9'2.5 broad jump, ran a 4.28 shuttle, 4.59 40 to boot. During the 1 on 1's, he was money in the bank. He runs hard, changes direction well, has good hands and is quite difficult to catch. Roberson has D1 written all over him.
Justin Haser (DL MVP from North Allegheny), Zack Laskey (RB MVP Starrs Mill), and Dustin Lowman (WR MVP Pittsburgh Catholic) also made major waves at the combine. The trio were the best at their position during 1 on 1's and tested well.
Fusco Well Worth the Price of Admission!
Byrd's Vinnie Fusco was one of the NUC's top freshman in all of 2009 and there was no drop off whatsoever this year. The 6'1 279 lb d-lineman took home the Overall MVP after once again dominating from start to finish. He had impressive athleticism for a player his size (8'1 broad jump and 4.68 shuttle run) bench pressed 185 lbs 23 times and was virtually flawless during 1 on 1's. The fuss over Fusco will lead him to a big time program in a few years.
Fusco was in a league of his own amongst the class of 2010, but Bobby Noble (Greensburg Catholic QB MVP), J.P Laus (Gatway WR MP) and Jon Hicks (Palmayra LB MVP) all put forth noteworthy performances.
Louis Proves to be an Elite Freshman!
With the combine taking place at his high school, Ringgold's Demetrius Louis had home field advantage, but it quite honestly made no difference. The 5'10 178 lb Louis had a 36 inch vertical, 9'4.5 broad jump, ran a 4.31 shuttle and 4.49 40, while dominating as a running back during 1 on 1's. His performance, which earned him the Overall MVP, Combine King and Fastest Man awards, was arguably the best we have ever seen from a freshman.
Adam Sahd (Penn Manor) is also a first year high schooler with a bright future. In winning the QB MVP Sahd, 5'9 165, had a 31.5 inch vertical, 8'5 broad jump, ran a 4.50 shuttle, bench pressed 135 lbs 23 times and did everything imaginable during 1 on 1's. His outstanding attitude and poise also earned him the leadership award.
Don Matarazo (WR MVP Franklin Regional) and Zach Guiser (Greensburg Catholic DB MVP) both created a buzz during the individual period with their awesome athleticism and skills at their position. It would have been quite interesting had they matched up against on another more frequently.
News and Notes:
The all around intensity level of the camp was at a high level throughout the weekend. There were also a number of non award winners that were noteworthy prospects.
Ringgold is the place to be for elite athletes, with baseball great Stan Musial, multi time Super Bowl champion Joe Montana and former MLB All Star Ken Griffey Sr. all playing their high school games at the same venue that hosted this combine.
