Los Angeles Beat the Heat Freshman Elite!

·        Mater Dei HS' Jameson Field was the top dog of this talented session. The 5'8 143 lb Field has great hands, quick feet, runs nice routes and had that much more ability than the DB's. As long as he continues to grow, Field will be a force to be reckoned with.

·        John Lopez is 6'5.5 315 lbs. We could honestly stop our assessment here, but won't.  His tremendous size is met with equally impressive strength; strength by skill. Lopez sticks out from a crowd and should because he is a darn good prospect. With NFL size as a 9th grader, it is safe to say that all eyes are on him.

·        Jonathan Davis is 5'8 243 lbs of nasty. In taking home the DL MVP, Davis displayed outstanding hands, a tremendous drive and good mechanics. He is the kind of DL that offensive coordinators dread.

·        Taylor "King" Thompson was the top athlete at the camp, running and jumping all over the place. The 5'8 180 lb athletic freak had a 32 inch vertical, ran a 4.62 shuttle, had a 9'0 broad jump and bench pressed 135 lbs 21 times en route to winning Combine King and Fastest Man award.

·        Jonathan Lockett has solid potential. As a current 8th grader, Lockett ran a 4.51 shuttle and was amongst the top performers during the individual period. The 5'8 131 pound wideout should be fun to watch improve.
