NUC Returns to Baton Rouge This Weekend!
          The National Underclassmen Combine hits the ultra talented Baton Rouge        area this weekend at Zachary HS. With 2009 serving as an example of how good the athletes are in Louisiana, NUC President & CEO David Schuman      is ecstatic about what he will see later this week.
          "The big boys always come to play down in Louisiana" Schuman stated emphatically. "In 09', there were a handful of D-1 prospects so I expect      nothing less this time around."'
          Nationally rated recruit Risean Broussard of LaGrange HS topped the     terrific junior session by taking home the Overall MVP. Broussard, a 6'2 289      lb monster of a defensive lineman, dominated during 1 on 1 's and had       unmatched athleticism for a player his size, with a 9'4 broad jump and 4.64        shuttle run in his deep arsenal.
          Curtis Carter of North De Soto HS was one of the top athletes from all of 09'   and took home the Combine King. Carter, 5'10 170, had a 37 inch vertical,   9'9.5 broad jump, ran a 4.29 shuttle and 4.41 40.He is heading to LSU in the    fall and is a dangerous player who could be used in a number of rolls.
          Louisiana Tech bout Seth Ancar also starred at the junior event, running a        4.36 shuttle, bench pressing 185 lbs 22 times and dominating during 1 on       1's. The South Plaqumines HS senior was rated amongst the best linebackers        in the state .
          Notable underclassmen included Natchez Brian Isaac (sophomore DB MVP      5'10, 187 with terrific athleticism and coverage ability),  Redemptorist HS'    Nico Talbert (WR MVP undersized at 5'6 139 but a phenomenal athlete) ,         Ron Pennington (Freshman Zachary HS Overall MVP and Fastest Man at               5'6, he had a 30.5 inch vertical, 8'9 broad jump, ran a 4.41 shuttle, 4.62 40 and starred during 1 on 1's and Haywood Dejean (LaGrange HS Frosh          Combine King 5'7 150, 34.5 inch vertical, 9'5 broad jump and 4.55  shuttle           run).

          "The ability and potential of these athletes, especially the freshman, was unreal", said Schuman.
          Current 8th/9th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomore are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors take center stage          1 pm this  Sunday, February 28.
          All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard       dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions.
