Jonathan Taylor Casa Grande Union HS, AZ 9th DL #94 | Taylor, 5’11.5 173, took home the DL MVP after a solid performance at the combine. Taylor displayed tremendous quickness and was one of the top performers during the 1 on 1’s. | |
Will Kreitler Gilbert HS, AZ 9th OL #46 | Kreitler won the OL MVP. At 5’9 191, Kriter displayed a terrific first step, was a great pass blocker and had great fundamentals. Kreitler is a coach’s dream. | |
Chans Cox Blue Ridge HS, AZ 9th RB #89 | Cox nabbed the Overall MVP following a sensational day on the gridiron. Cox had an 8’1 broad jump, ran a 4.79 shutttle, bench pressed 135 and lbs 23 times. At 6’2 196, Cox also excelled during 1 on 1’s, displaying tremendous hands while running nice routes. Chances are Cox will be a star for years to come. | |
Allen Thigpen Hamilton HS, AZ 8th QB #8 | Thigpen, 6’0 161, won the QB MVP and Leadership awards. Thigpen maintained his composure throughout the event and worked tirelessly throughout the day. Thigpen also had a terrific arm and good footwork, making him an ideal QB to lead a team. | |
Matt Young Desert Vista HS, AZ 9th QB #46 | Young Matt may only be a freshman, but after taking home the co-QB MVP award, he showed why he could very well turn into a star. Young, 5’9 148, was an elite performer during 1 on 1’s, connecting on a number of perfectly placed passes while also displaying terrific poise and great feet. | |
Jalen Ortiz Centennial HS, AZ 9th CB #23 | Ortiz won the DB MVP as well as Fastest Man award following a terrific day on the football field. Immensely talented at 5’8 151, Ortiz had a 28.5 inch vertical, 8’9 broad jump, ran a 4.62 shuttle and kept the receivers on lockdown during 1 on 1’s, where he had more than 5 interceptions. Ortiz is a menace. | |
Jalen Brown Kyrene MS, AZ 8th WR #35 | Brown won the 8th grade MVP. A freakish athlete for an 8th grader, Brown had a 30 inch vertical and 8’10 broad jump, while standing out in the showcase due to his terrific route running and ability to get his hands on the ball. Brown has major potential. | |
Thair Blakes Saint Mary’s HS, AZ 9th WR #54 | Blakes, 6’4.5 182, was the WR MVP. Blakes had an 8’8 broad jump, good hands and consistently created separation between himself and the opposing defender. His size and skill should help take him a long way. | |
Kevin Walters Jr. Desert Ridge HS, AZ 9th RB #25 | Walters, 5’6 141, won the RB MVP. A terrific athlete, Walters had an 8’10 broad jump, ran a 4.48 shuttle, ran good routes during 1 on 1’s and displayed an uncanny ability to burst up the field. | |
Najee Jacobs Estrell Foothills HS, AZ 9th TE/WR #45 | Jacobs won the TE MVP following a strong showing at the combine. At 5’9 175, Jacobs had a 30 inch vertical and 8’2 broad jump, while displaying great physical strength along with good hands. Jacobs is also very coachable, making him everything a coach would ask for. | |
Austin Trebilcock Mountain View HS, AZ 9th LB #15 | Trebilcock was named LB MVP. At 5’9 166, Trebilcock did a great job of man to man coverage, showed good aggressiveness and was a top playmaker during 1 on 1’s. | |
Kyle Harms Liberty HS, AZ 9th RB #24 | Harms, 5’6 156, was crowned Combine King after tearing apart the stat sheets. Harms had a 29.5 inch vertical, 8’9 broad jump, ran a 4.44 shuttle and 4.63 40. It is definitely best to stay out of Harms way! | |
Dalten Damas Casa Grande Union HS, AZ 9th DL #100 | A massive 5’11.5 298, Damas was the Strongest Man award winner. Damas bench pressed 155 lbs 17 and used his size to wreck havoc during 1 on 1’s. |

Great event. Gives the kids a chance to see how they stack up against the competition. My son was in the showcase last year 2009 as an 8th grade QB and participated in the U100 West in LA. He won freshman RB MVP this year 2010 in Apache Junction. The competition better look out he just may go as a WR next year.
