NUC Jacksonville Preview: NUC Returns to Jacksonville, NC this weekend!

NUC Returns to Jacksonville, NC this weekend!
The National Underclassmen Combine hits Raines this HS this weekend, giving current 8-11th graders an opportunity to showcase their abilities to get recognition at the next level. While some may argue that their players aren't on par with other cities in Florida such as Miami and Orlando, Jacksonville is far from off the radar.
The 2009 Junior Overall MVP Trammell Williams, of Robert E. Lee HS, committed to South Carolina just four months after attending last year's combine. Williams, a 6'0 252 lb offensive lineman, is a prime example of why there is no telling where elite talent can be found. Williams dominated junior day and had unprecedented quickness for a big man, thus was rated the number 9 prospect in America at his position.
Tahj Kimble of Fernandia Beach HS was also a nationally rated recruited who honed his talents at the Junior combine as well. Kimble, a smooth running back, will suit up for Boston College this fall.
Other notable 09' underclassmen included Sophomore Overall MVP Clim Robbins of Jones HS, Combine King Cameron Montgomery also of Jones HS,  DL MVP/Strongest Man Tyler Scott of Bolles HS and Freshman MVP Briyan Eady of TCA HS.
With a number of solid prospects coming out of Jacksonville, NUC President and CEO David Schuman is looking forward to this weekend's combine.
"I know people talk about Jacksonville football in the same breath as Miami and Orlando, but the talent here is terrific". "If we continue to see  High School Al American/D1 prospects, it won't be long before Jacksonville catches up."
Current 8th/9th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomore are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors take center stage 1 pm this  Sunday, February 28.
All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions.
Athletes can sign up for the Jacksonville combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP1 for more details.
