Quayshawn Nealy, Lakeland HS, FL Class of 2010: Nealy, 6’0 215, was among the elite performers at the 08’ Orlando combine. Nealy is a terrific athlete with a good understanding of how to hold down the linebacker position. As a sophomore at the combine, Nealy had a 32.5 inch vertical, 8’10 broad jump, ran a 4.68 40, 4.36 shuttle and bench pressed 155 lbs 23 times. He was rated amongst the top 100 linebackers in the country by Rivals and is headed to Georgia Tech in the fall, turning down offers from programs such as Georgia, Nebraska, Michigan, Purdue, Virgina and Iowa State among others.
Future Outlook: Nealy has all the ability to become a standout but like most freshmen, will have to earn his stripes. Once Nealy takes the time to learn the Yellow Jackets’ defensive sets, he should develop into a notable player for 2011 and beyond.
