Interview with Standout/Future D1 Star Jordan Huff!

Coach Schuman: What did you do to prepare for the National Underclassmen Combine?

Jordan Huff:  I always try to stay physically active by lifting weights, jogging, and spriniting, but I increased the  intensity of my usual activities during the weeks leading up to the combine .

Coach Schuman: Have you been to the NUC before? How did you do? What were your expectations going into this year's event?

Jordan Huff:  No, this was my first national underclassmen combine.

Coach Schuman: You were MVP! What are your goals now?

Jordan Huff:  The Ultimate combine is in June. I know the competition is going to be greater, so I plan to train harder and leave there as MVP also. 

Coach Schuman: How did you hear about the National Underclassmen Combine and what was your favorite part about the event?

Jordan Huff: My dad is always looking for ways to help me display my talent. He found the information on the NCSA website. I liked getting feedback from National Recruiters regarding my abilities, I also enjoyed hearing Tony Collins speak. He was very motivational. I love to compete, so my favorite part of the event was competeing against my peers!


Coach Schuman: If you can choose 5 schools where you would be interested in playing what would they be? Jordan Huff: Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida & Tennessee.

Coach Schuman: What do you like about high school football? What are your goals for your team and yourself? 

Jordan Huff: I like that the competition is tougher. That's exciting to me! It makes me want to go out there and work harder. Being a freshman who's playing on Varsity, makes me more determine to prove that I can contribute significantly to my team. My goals for myself are to continue to work hard academically, as well as athletically. My grades are good, but I want to increase my overall GPA by two points. I plan to gain about ten pounds, and increase my speed and endurance by the start of the season. I'm going to help lead my team to a championship this year!

Coach Schuman: Do you play other sports? Tell me about your accomplishments?

Jordan Huff: In addition to football, I play baseball and run track. I hit two home runs in baseball. In track, I jumped 23 ft in the long jump and ran a  52.1 in the 4x4. 

Coach Schuman: What is your favorite thing about football? What makes it a great sport to you?

Jordan Huff: I like the intensity of the sport. It's an exciting game. What makes it great is that it teaches you how to be a team player. No matter how good you are you can't win the game alone. I like to lead by example and help get my team pumped up!


Coach Schuman: Tell me about your training regimen...How do you get better every day?

Jordan Huff: I keep God first. I'm very disciplined and determined, so I work hard at everything I do.I don't drink or use drugs. I choose my friends wisely, so I surround myself with other kids who want to do great things in life. I train year round and I challenge myself to constantly get better.

Coach Schuman: What are you looking for in a college? Academically? football?

Jordan Huff: I'm looking for a college that is  culturally diverse and academically challenging. I would like for their to be a broad range of studies available. I want to know that if I apply myself, when I graduate, I will be prepared to succeed in my career. As for football, I am looking for the opportunity to learn, improve my skills, and make a positive impact on my team.

Kameel Jackson Sam Houston HS, TX 11th WR #57	Kameel "Action" Jackson took home the Overall MVP following a brilliant performance. At 5'11.5 195, Jackson had a 31 inch vertical, 9'9 broad jump, ran a NFL-like 4.15 shuttle, 4.50 40 and had all put on a clinic during 1 on 1's. Jackson had good size, terrific speed, consistently created space between himself and the DB's and had excellent hands. Kameel Jackson; remember the name!
Kentrell Brothers Guthrie HS, OK 11th LB #52	Brothers, 6'0 208, won the LB MVP. Brothers was highly motivated throughout the combine, dominating during the 1 on 1's with his impressive speed and football smarts.
Alfredo Morales Sam Houston HS, TX 11th OL #83	A monster at 6'2 277 lbs, Morales won the OL MVP. Morales had good hands, nice strength, impressive toughness and was always listening to the coaches.
Ronnie Green Cedar Hill HS, TX 11th RB #59	Green, 5'7 166, won the RB MVP. Green had a 33.5 inch vertical, 9'6 broad jump, ran a 4.40 shuttle, 4.52 40 and was a man amongst boys during the 1 on 1's. He had terrific speed and quickness, awesome athleticism, top notch body control, great footwork and unprecedented hands for a RB. Green is the total package.
Ty Hook Denton Ryan HS, TX 11th LB #56	Hook was simply off it during the combine, taking home the Combine King and Strongest Man awards. Gifted beyond belief at 5'11.5 217, Hook had a 35.5 inch vertical, 10'0 broad jump, ran a 4.36 shuttle, 4.48 40, bench pressed 185 lbs 32 times and did a tremendous job during 1 on 1's. If I told you that Hook was flawed, I would be lying.
Lance Williams John Horn HS, TX 11th LB #88	Williams, 6'0 246, took home the LB MVP. Williams had a 29 inch vertical, bench pressed 185 lbs 24 times, and was powerful and athletic during 1 on 1's.
Jared Raiford Round Rock HS, TX 11th WR/TE #71	Raiford won the TE MVP. At 6'2.5 209, Raiford had a 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.41 shuttle, bench pressed 185 lbs 20 times and had good size, used his body well, has good hands and runs nice routes.
Ross Hudson Rockwell HS, TX 11th QB #35	Hudson, 5'11 194, took home the QB MVP. Hudson had an 8'6 broad jump, ran a 4.37 shuttle, has a cannon for an arm, good footwork and makes decisions like a player at the next level.
Blake Turner Rockwall HS, TX 11th WR #9	Turner turned plenty of heads after winning the Fastest Man award. Turner, 6'2 185, ran a 4.42 shuttle, 4.51 40, had a 30 inch vertical and 9'4 broad jump. Turner is a very good athlete to say the least.
Jonathan Abercrombie Cedar Hill HS, TX 11th RB #6	Abercrombie can really fly! At 5'8 164 Abercrombie ran a 4.42 40, 4.26 shuttle, had a 31.5 inch vertical and 8'3 broad jump.
Jalen Parker Duncanville HS, TX 11th WR #45	Parker took home the WR MVP. At 5'5 134, Parker had an 8'11.5 broad jump, ran a 4.52 shuttle and displayed good skills out of the slot during 1 on 1's. Parker had good moves, ran nice routes, created separation between himself and the DB's and has soft hands. His skills clearly make up for his lack of size.
James Driskell McKinney Boyd HS, TX 11th WR #17	Driskill slaughtered the DB's during the 1 on 1's en route to winning WR MVP. At 5'8.5 151, Driskell had a 32 inch vertical, 8'11.5 broad jump, ran a 4.55 shuttle, 4.44 40 and was the total package during 1 on 1's.
Quarmaine Thomas West Mesquite HS, TX 11th CB #37	Thomas, 5'7.5 162, was the DB MVP. Thomas had an 8'10 broad jump, ran a 4.39 shuttle, and jammed the WR's like a basketball during 1 on 1's.
Kristoff Calvert Frisco HS, TX 11th DL #87	Calvert, 5'9.5 248, came away with the DL MVP. Calvert bench pressed 185 lbs 25 times, had good speed off the ball, quick hands and solid hip movement.
Zack Knickman Lake Highlands HS, TX 11th RB #70	Knickman, 5'6 190, won the Leadership Award. Knickman hustled throughout the event, had a 33.5 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle, bench pressed 185 lbs 26 times and worked diligently during 1 on 1's. What is better than having a player this talented who is always humbe?

Cordray Love Duncanville HS, TX 9th CB #95	Love, 5'7 152, won the Overall MVP. Love will get plenty of it from scouts, after impressing with his 30.5 inch vertical, 8'0 broad jump, 4.42 shuttle, 4.50 40 and terrific jamming ability during 1 on 1's.
Daniel Gresham Crowley HS, TX 9th RB #57	Gresham took home the RB MVP. A Jerome Bettis like 5'9 220, Gresham had an 8'4 broad jump, bench pressed 135 lbs 29 times, had great hands, good speed for his size, was a leader with a winning attitude and had good body control. The Bus is back!
Garrett York Crandall HS, TX 9th LB #27	York, 6'2 225, grabbed the LB MVP after taking the fire out of the offense during 1 on 1's. York had an 8'6 broad jump, had tremendous physical gifts, was strong and athletic. York is a beast!
Taylor Young Desoto HS, TX 9th LB #17	Young was the co-LB MVP. An enforcer on the football field at 5'7.5 195, Young had an 8'3 broad jump, bench pressed 135 lbs 21 times and had good quickness and athleticism during 1 on 1's.
Derrick Green Hermitage HS, VA 9th RB #60	The Leadership and Strongest Man award winner at 5'10 231, Green has winner written all over him. The hard working and motivated green bench pressed 135 lbs 34 times, ran a 4.32 shuttle, 4.64 40 had an 8'1 broad jump and did a nice job during 1 on 1's. A star is born!
Taijuan Thomas Quachita Parish HS, LA 9th RB #28	Taijuan "King" Thomas was crowned Combine King after brutalizing the stat sheets. At 5'8 159, Thomas had a 31.5 inch vertical, 9'2 broad jump, ran a 4.48 shuttle 4.55 40 and bench pressed 135 lbs 23 times. Thomas is a terrific athlete.
Richard Brothers Guthire HS, OK 9th WR #63	Oh Brother(s)! We have a prospect here. At 6'0 181, Brothers won the WR MVP. Brothers had exceptional hands, ran awesome routes and used his size to his advantage. Brothers also has potential to develop into a good TE if he continues to grow.
Devon Burnis Crandall HS, TX 9th OL #84	From an offensive lineman standpoint, Devon simply burned the competition. At 5'10 218, Burnis won the OL MVP following a domination during 1 on 1's. Burnis is one tough cookie, had good hands and was quite coachable.
Keenan Blair Duncanville HS, TX 9th QB #36	Keenan "Air" Blair won the QB MVP. At 5'10 155, Blair had an 8'3 broad jump, ran a 4.36 shuttle, had a very strong arm, a quick release and is always willing to learn more. Blair is a player and coach would love to take under his wing.
Masley Pape Rider HS, TX 9th DL #24	Undersized but supremely skilled, Pape won the DL MVP. The 5'9 171 lb prospect had a 30.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.35 shuttle, bench pressed 155 lbs 26 times and was quick off the ball during 1 on 1's. Pape may end up as an LB, but regardless of where he pays, he will be a problem for the offense.
Court Prescott Marcus HS, TX 9th S #25	Prescott, 5'9.5 165, won the DB MVP. Prescott had an 8'2 broad jump, ran a 4.62 shuttle, consistently smothered the WR's and had great football smarts.
Carson Profitt Killian HS, TX 8th QB #45	Profitt, 5'11 162, was the 8th Grade MVP. Profitt ran a 4.59 shuttle, has tremendous technique and a great upside.
Raashaan Reason West Mesquite HS, TX 9th RB #58	Raashaan is a menace to the defense on the football field. Reason? His speed! The Fastest Man award winner at 5'7 155, Reason ran a 4.48 shuttle, 4.45 40, had an 8'5 broad jump and worked hard during 1 on 1's.
