JACKSON MS 8th-10th grade NUC Schuman’s Outstanding Performance List
Picasso Nelson Mendenhall MS, MS 8th WR #42	Just like the legendary artist who he was most likely named after, Picasso Nelson panted a perfect picture on the football field en route to winning the 8th Grade MVP. The 5'8.5 154 lb wideout had an 8'5 broad jump, terrific intelligence, good feet, changed direction well and had solid hands. From the art studio to the gridiron, Picasso is the real deal.
Travonte Fenton Oak Grove HS, MS 10th WR #40	Fonton, 5'11 180, won the Overall MVP. Fonton had a 30.5 inch vertical, 8'10 broad jump, ran a 4.38 shuttle, bench pressed 155 lbs 17 times and was a man on a mission during 1 on 1's. Fonton did a great job of getting open, makes plays and has very good hands.
Antzale Henry Westwood HS, TN 10th WR #1	Henry, 5'11 150, won the Sophomore WR MVP. Henry had an 8'9 broad jump, had terrific body control, consistently created separation between himself and the DB, and played with unprecedented determination.
Alex Nicholson Northeast Lauderdale HS, MS 10th	Nicholson, 6'1 177, was the QB MVP and Leadership award winner. Nicholson hustled from start to finish, had a 30 inch vertical, 8'5 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle, displayed terrific accuracy and great mechanics. Nicholson has a lot to offer.
Erin Jones Pearl HS, MS 9th WR #54	Jones took home the Freshman WR MVP. At 6'1.5 167, Jones had an 8'6 broad jump, great hands, good leaping ability and solid height for a frosh. This kid really has potential!
Jamonee Brown Petal HS, MS 10th DL #98	Jamonee was exactly that; money in the bank! A monster of the midway at 6'1 277, Brown won the DL MVP. Brown bench pressed 185 lbs 17 times, was a good athlete with a strong build and a great push during 1 on 1's.
Cort Brinson Oak Grove HS, MS 10th LB #79	Brinson came up with the LB MVP award after battling from the moment combine started to the commencement. The 5'11 185 lb Brinson ran a 4.47 shuttle, bench pressed 155 lbs 14 times, is intelligent, aggressive, has good hands and plays the ball well. He has terrific tools.
Calvin Williams Mendenhall HS, MS 10th RB #41	Williams, 5'8 160, was the RB MVP. Williams had a 29.5 inch vertical, 8'2 broad jump, understands the game well, was easy to coach, has great hands and even better feet. An impressive performance to say the least.
Nathaniel Shelby Jim Hill HS, MS 10th OL #102	A gargantuan 6'1 315 lbs, Shelby won the Sophomore OL MVP. Shelby bench pressed 185 lbs 19 times, had a great attitude, an aggressive style and was willing to take on any DL during 1 on 1's.
Xavier Woodyard Jim Hill HS, MS 10th DL #102	Woodyard was the Freshman DL MVP. Massive at 5'10 290, Woodyard bench pressed 155 lbs 23 times, played strong and aggressively during 1 on 1's and has the swagger of a champion.
JaBorian McKenzie Wilkinson Christian Academy, MS 10th RB #37	JaBorian McKenzie was crowned Combine King after tearing up the stat sheets. At 5'7 167, McKenzie had a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.39 shuttle, 4.59 40, bench pressed 155 lbs 19 times and did a nice job during 1 on 1's. The total package? You bet!
Christian Berry Quitman HS, MS 9th OL #9	Berry was the Freshman OL MVP. At 6'1 262, Berry used his large frame to neutralize the d-linemen during 1 on 1's while displaying a championship attitude.
John Harris Westwood HS, TN 10th S #47	Harris took home the DB MVP. Harris, 5'8 162, had a 31.5 inch vertical, 8'8 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle, had great hips, terrific footwork, awesome ball skills and was a true competitor. Harris has everything a coach could ask for from a big game DB.

Freshmen display First Class Potential at Tri-Cities HS!

Last Saturday morning at Tri-Cities HS an abundance of talented freshman took the field with something to prove. Many players attend their first combine as a freshman, thus slip ups or anxiety is expected, but this was far from the case in one of America's most sacred regions for football talent.

Shaquille Wiggins (Westlake HS) was a man on a mission; or should we say on a "Shaq Attack". Wiggins took home the Overall MVP award after completely shutting down the WR's during the individual position period to the point where literally all eyes were on him. At 5'7.5 136, Wiggins has good quickness (running a 4.34 shuttle) and plays physically for a player his weight.

Mike Payne (Dougherty) and Spencer McManes (Blessed Trinity) shared the QB MVP award. With quick releases, good arm strength and superior patience, these two rising stars had terrific completion percentages.

Playing at home is an advantage and a confidence for any athlete; just ask Tri-Cities' Dominique Threatt, who won the OL MVP. The 6'1 288 lb monster made things uncomfortable for opposing linemen and the 1 on 1's were barely competitive when Threatt stepped up to the line.

With an rockets in his seemingly cleats and blessed genetics Otis Washington (Luevlla MS) won the Combine King and Fastest Man award. The 5'7.5 145 lb Washington had a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.54 shuttle and 4.64 40. Impressive to say the least for a player who is yet to enter high shcool.

Tauren Ferguson (Jonesboro) may be a small for a wide out but after winning the WR MVP, he clearly demonstrated his ability more than compensates for his lack of height. Ferguson, 5'6.5 154, had an 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.30 shuttle and was a man amongst boys during 1 on 1's. Ferguson had great hands, ran pro-style routes and consistently created separation between himself and the d-backs.

The game of football, like any sport, consistently has surprises. After yet another terrific combine session, hearing about a talented player from the Atlanta region is about as shocking as Brett Favre attempting another comeback.

Corey Moore Griffin HS, GA S #6	Moore, 6'0.5 192, won the DB MVP. Moore had a 32 inch vertical, 9'8 broad jump, ran a 4.50 and locked down the WR's during 1 on 1's. I'd definitely like to see more of Corey in the near future.
Ralph Abernathy IV Westminster HS, GA 11th RB #41	Ralph Abernathy may be the fourth person in his family bearing this name, but when it comes to speed, he is first in class. At 5'6 154, Abernathy won the Fastest Man award by running a 4.33 shuttle and 4.42 40. He also had a 33 inch vertical and 9'1 broad jump.
Kadetrix Marcus Hillgrove HS, GA 11th S #49	Kadetrix had plenty up his sleeve and was crowned Combine King. The 6'0.5 191 lb safety had a 35 inch vertical, 9'2 broad jump, ran a 4.45 shuttle, 4.59 40 and did a nice job in 1 on 1's. Marcus is an elite athlete.
Mason Harris Ridgeland HS, GA 11th DL #99	Harris, 6'3 198, won the DL MVP. A tremendous athlete, Harris had a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'11 broad jump, ran a 4.40 40, had tremendous toughness and an outstanding first step.
Uneik Crumbley Americus-Sumter HS, GA 11th OL #101	Uneik is exactly what this 6'3 337 lb monster is. Crumbley won the OL MVP after demolishing the competition during 1 on 1's and bench pressing 185 lbs 26 times. Cumbley has good lateral movement, nice foot movement and a strong punch.
David Dupaty Harrison HS, GA 11th LB #79	Dupaty, 5'11 211, won the LB MVP and Leadership award. Dupaty had a 33.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.57 40, bench pressed 185 lbs 22 times and hustled throughout the day. During 1 on 1's, he displayed great agility, flexibility and explosion. Dupaty is a leader and a terrific linebacker.
Willie Davis Jr. Stephenson HS, GA 11th RB #9	Davis came up with the RB MVP after outhustling his counterparts. The 5'8 189 lb Davis had a 9'1 broad jump, ran a 4.60 shuttle, bench pressed 185 lbs 17 times and starred during 1 on 1's. Davis bustled his tail throughout the day and has a good upside.
Tarik Cook Stephenson HS, GA 11th OL #88	Tarik won the co-OL MVP and Strongest Man award after he cooked up a tremendous amount of whoopin' at the combine. Cook, 6'1.5 294, bench pressed 185 lbs 30 times, held the DL down during 1 on 1's, and had a strong drive to succeed.
Douglas McBride Ola HS, GA 11th WR #39	Ola HS McBride can now say hello to the next level of recognition after winning the WR MVP. McBride, 5'11.5 174, had a 33 inch vertical, 9'8 broad jump, ran a 4.47 shuttle, 4.58 40, ran terrific routes, had great hands, was explosive and created tremendous separation between himself and the defensive back. McBride is a top tier prospect; period.
David Stevenson Stephenson HS, GA 11th CB #91	Stevenson from Stephenson HS is catchy, but the title of Overall MVP sticks much better. The talent loaded 5'8 158 lb DB had a 34.5 inch vertical, 9'3 broad jump, ran a blazing 4.04 shuttle, 4.47 40  and completely dominated the WR's during 1 on 1's.
Kent Rollins South Gwinett HS, GA 11th QB #16	Rollins, 5'11.5 164, took home the QB MVP. Rollins had a 30 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.45 shuttle and showcased his tremendous skill during the 1 on 1's. Rollins has solid accuracy, a good arm, makes impressive decisions and has pro-style footwork. Rollins was simply on a role!
Zachary Witchett Booker T. Washington 11th WR #70	Witchett, 6'0 195, was a man amongst boys during 1 on 1's. He had tremendous hands, ran good, quick routes, created separation between himself and the DB on a consistent basis and had the confidence of a champion.
Chris Davis Jr. McEachern HS, GA 11th WR #18	Davism 5'10.5 151, won the co-WR MVP. Davis Jr. had a 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.29 shuttle, had good speed, was able to change direction on the time and caught a bunch of passes during the 1 on 1's. Between Davis and Witchett, Atlanta's junior camp could very well have two of the top receivers around.
Jabari Hunt-Days Hillgrove HS, GA 11th LB #25	Hunt-Days, 6'1.5 226, won the co-LB MVP. Hunt-Days had a 35 inch vertical, 9'6 broad jump, bench pressed 185 lbs 19 times, had great lateral movement, a championship attitude and tremendous athleticism. Hunt-Days is an excellent prospect.
Andre Wilson Heritage HS, GA 11th QB #17	Wilson took home the co-QB MVP award. Talented and smart at 6'0 179, Wilson had an 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.77 shuttle, threw a terrific ball, had a strong arm, made good decisions and has a great head on his shoulders. Wilson is worth keeping an eye on.

Future Stars Look to set their Destiny This Weekend in Dallas!

Hundreds of  young prospects will test themselves out this weekend at Duncanville HS, looking to set the tone for their future in football. While the  10' combine class is expected to perform at a high level, this group of current 8th-11th graders will really have to step it up a notch to match the intensity and skill level from a year ago.

University of Houston bound Dylan Piland (Southlake Carroll) topped a terrific junior session by taking home the overall MVP. Piland had tremendous quickness and was the total package as the QB, displaying the ability to throw the long ball while also working the short range game. The 6'2.5 175 lb Piland had star written all over him from the moment he stepped onto the field.

Greg Fason (Mesquite) graced the football field with unmatched athleticism, initially confusing our staff if he were a running back or an Olympian. At 5'4.5 161, Fason had a 10 foot broad jump, had a 39.5 inch vertical, ran a 4.40 shuttle, 4.49 40 and bench pressed 185 lbs 27 times.

Samuel "The Beast" Harvill (Shiloh Christian), the strongest player from all of 09, dominated the sophomore session. The 5'0.5 252 powerhouse threw up 185 lbs 56 times on the bench and manhandled the opposing linemen during 1 on 1's. In addition to starring at the combine, Harvill is also known by hardcore sports fans for holding the high school bench press record.

Freshman Tomorris Hamilton (South Grand Prairie) led the 9th grade session by dominating his fellow first year high schoolers. The ultra talented 5'7 132 lb WR was a man amongst boys during 1 on 1's and ran a 4.53 shuttle.

With a region that has so much talent that the NUC has to go there twice to see it all, CEO & President David Schuman is eager to see what the class of  10' has to offer.

"Dallas is here and once again, It's only fitting to think that the talent pool will be deeper than the ocean", said Schuman. "The players we have seen at this event in the past are as good as good as they come.

Current 8^th/9^th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomore are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors take center stage 1 pm this Sunday, March 14.

All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions.
