The underclassmen stole the stage the NUC Five Star and a Super 8 emerged, led by six sophomores and two freshmen that signify the future of high school football in Louisiana and Mississippi

The Super 8
1.George Moreira, John Curtis HS, LA Class of 2014, 5-9, 193
George is thick, strong, and fast, period. He has great explosion in the drills for both straight ahead running and change of direction. His hands are fantastic and despite sitting behind two of the best running backs in Louisiana, he will get some share of carries this year and should become the feature and the next superstar D-1 back at John Curtis High School. Expect him as a junior and senior to end up being one of the best backs in Louisiana.

2. Nick Brosette-University Lab, LA Class of 2015, 6-0, 203
Nick burst onto the football scene at the NUC Baton Rouge as a 7th grader and has not looked back. When he was just in 8th grade, he led University Lab in rushing and now as a Freshman he lead them with over 1000 yards rushing. Nick is a physical presence at 210 pounds, but his amazing change of direction for a big bank and smooth transition from lateral movement to vertical movement make him an exceptional player. He has fantastic catching ability for a back and knows how to utilize his body to make plays and keep himself in position. He was difficult to cover in 1 on 1’s and was the recipient of the Underclassmen Award

3. Garrett Brumfield-University Lab, LA Class of 2014, 6-4, 259
In my opinion Garrett was the most impressive lineman at the cap. Just a sophomore he matched up and won most the battles against elder Dlineman. His fantastic athleticism for a lineman and great initial punch separates him from the pack. He is a fast learner and displays a unique ability to transfer immediate knowledge and learning into action on the field. With a fantastic body type and tremendous bend for a lineman, Garrett is already establishing himself as the Top Olineman in his grade level and one of the best in the state of Louisiana.

4. Quentin Gibson-Archbishop Shaw, LA Class of 2014, 6-1, 156
This super Soph has rocket of an arm and an amazing ability to place the ball where ever he wants it to go. His specialty is a fantastic long ball and can be pinpoint accurate on that throw. He has excellent athleticism and a good drop. He must continue to improve his release and the speed of that release in order to become a top echelon QB. Quentin displayed unique poise on all throws and all ranges of throws and has the potential to be one of the top QB’s in the State of Louisiana

5. Jacory Washingoton-Westlake, LA Class of 2014, 6-5, 207
A giant of a man at 6-5, 206, he moves extremely well and has a fantastic ability to adjust to his coverage competition. When competing in one on ones against bigger players he uses his speed, against smaller players he uses his size and wingspan, establishing himself as a dominant receiver. He is player with fantastic upside and can only continue to improve. He must work on his ability to change direction and improved quickness as this will help to make him a complete player.

6. Ty Storey-Charleston HS, AR Class of 2015, 6-3, 200
Very rarely does a freshman QB with the size and arm combination match together to form a fantastic QB, but Ty has both and the decision making to match. Ty displays great drop, a big arm, and the accuracy of QB’s two years his senior. I expect Ty to be one of the best QB’s to come out of Arkansas in many years. He already looks the body of college QB and will continue to improve in areas such as decision-making and identifying coverage, which will make him a superior QB

7.Sione Palelei-East Ascension, LA-Class of 2014-5-9, 184
a fantastic athlete who simply makes everything look easy. After a fantastic season at East Ascension in his sophomore campaign, Sione was quietly one of the best players in the showcase, he just simply got open and made plays. In individual drills he was right up there with Brosette and Moreira in his ability to change direction and get vertical. Sione also has excellent speed that makes getting vertical a no brainer, look for his stock to rise dramatically over the next year.

8.Dejarvis Chambers-Wayne County HS, MS-Class of 2014- 5-10, 165
Dejarvis has a unique ability to get open in all the short routes and also can get vertical fast and make plays on the deep ones. He catches everything but must continue to improve and get crisper in his route running. He has good size for an underclassmen receiver and will continue to rise his stock the more events he attends.
