NUC MVP Interview: Columbia SC Standout Thomas "Money In The" Banks

Coach Schuman: What did you do to prepare for the National Underclassmen Combine?
Thomas Banks: I worked really hard and had my cousins come out on the field with me every day and work on technique and footwork.

Coach Schuman: Have you been to the NUC before? How did you do? What were your expectations going into this years event?
Thomas Banks:I have never been to a NUC combine before. I  had a great expectations for the NUC combine by being able to compete with others in the 8th and 9th grade.

Coach Schuman: You were MVP! What are your goals now?
Thomas Banks: My goal is to keep working hard and improving in every aspect of the game.

Coach Schuman: How did you hear about the National Underclassmen Combine and what was your favorite part about the event?
Thomas Banks: I was on the web and was looking for a combine for underclassmen and NUC showed up and I watched to videos and decided to sign up for it from there.  I enjoyed the one on one event the best.

 
Coach Schuman: If you can choose 5 schools where you would be interested in playing what would they be?
Thomas Banks: Oklahoma State , Oregon, South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas

Coach Schuman: What do you like about high school football? What are your goals for your team and yourself?
Thomas Banks:  I love the higher competition and playing under the lights on a Friday. My goal for the team is to win state and for my personal goal is to make all state as a freshman. Also, keep Christ the center in my life.

Coach Schuman: Do you play other sports? Tell me about your accomplishments?
Thomas Banks:  Yes, I play baseball, basketball and I run track too.
I received best offensive player in football this year, and Coach's award 
in basketball.   I played on the Junior High football team and JV team too.
 
Coach Schuman: What is your favorite thing about football? What makes it a great sport to you?
Thomas Banks: The feeling you get after you make a big play.I have always  loved the game and it is where my heart is!

Coach Schuman: Tell me about your training regimen...How do you get better every day?
Thomas Banks: I work out 5 times a week in the weight room and do footwork 2 times a week. I push my self everyday in everything I do.

Coach Schuman: What are you looking for in a college? Academically? football?
Thomas Banks:I want to have great grades in college and I want to have a great career in  football also.
