COLUMBUS, OH 9th grade NUC Schuman’s Outstanding Performance List
Zachary Yousey Harvest Prep, OH 9th WR #11	Yousey won the Overall MVP following a tremendous performance. The 6'0 162 lb wideout had a 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.34 shuttle, 4.76 40 and was a monster during 1 on 1's. He works hard, has a great attitude and runs terrific routes.
Malik Zaire Kettering Archbishop HS, OH 9th QB #12	Ziare, 5'10.5 177, was the QB MVP. Ziare had an 8'6 broad jump, ran a 4.63 shuttle, displayed terrific mechanics, got the ball out quick and made good reads on the defense.
James Winchester Trotwood Madison HS, OH 9th CB #19	Remember, it's the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog; just ask James Winchester. At 5'4.5 129, Winchester won a special MVP award since he was a freshman competing with the juniors. The 5'4.5 129 lb d-back had an 8'2 broad jump, ran a 4.58 shuttle and smothered the WR's during 1 on 1's. His coverage ability and potential are sensational!
Darron Lee New Albany HS, OH 9th QB #19	Lee, 6'0.5 186, won the Combine King and Leadership awards. He is the total package athletically, with a 33 inch vertical, 9'11 broad jump and 4.52 shuttle run to boot. Lee also has an awesome work ethic, is vocal and displayed how to get the job done on the football field.
Jeff Jones Reynoldsburg HS, OH 9th DL #71	Jones won the DL MVP. Powerful at 5'9.5 290, Jones had great hands, solid hips, good football knowledge and good all around skills for a youngster.
Jarrodd Clements Dayton Dunbar HS, OH 9th DL #72	Clements, 6'2 227, was the co-DL MVP. Clements had a 7'0 broad jump, was quick off the ball, had good hands and terrific potential.
Damon Pillard Marion Franklin HS, OH 9th OL #90	Pillard, 6'2 377, won the OL MVP. Pillard has strong hands, good footwork and neutralized the opposing linemen during 1 on 1's.
Marc Ferguson Princeton HS, OH 9th OL #50	Ferguson shared the OL MVP with Pillard. Equally dominant at 6'0 281, Ferguson bench pressed 155 lbs 16 times and did a great job during 1 on 1's.
Malik Robinson Walnut Ridge HS, OH 9th CB #14	Robinson, 5'4.5 151, was the DB MVP. The shut down DB had a 32 inch vertical, 8'0 broad jump, ran a 4.52 shuttle, bench pressed 135 lbs 25 times and created plenty of frustrations for the offense during 1 on 1's.
Dean Washington New Albany HS, OH 9th WR #59	Washington, 5'10.5 159, was the WR MVP. He refused to quit, had great hands, good feet and caught the ball in traffic.
Chris Frey Upper Arlington MS, 8th S #7	Frey, 6'0 165, took home the 8th Grade MVP. He was physical during the 1 on 1's, jammed the WR's, had an 8'7 broad jump and ran a 4.6 shuttle. Impressive.
Emmanuel Owusu New Albany MS, OH 8th RB #38	Owusu grabbed the RB MVP award. The 5'7.5 139 lber had an 8'11 broad jump, ran a 4.45 shuttle, changes direction well, has good hips, soft hands and nice speed.
Ramello Crisp Tratwood HS, OH 8th CB #5	Crisp was the Fastest Man award winner. The 5'4 118 lb speedster ran a 4.52 shuttle, 4.70 shuttle and had an 8'0 broad jump.
Matt Bennett Washington-Nile HS, OH 9th OL#22	Bennett, 5'9.5 214, won the Strongest Man award. Bennett bench pressed 155 lbs a ridiculous 40 times.
Darrien Howard Chaminade HS, OH 9th LB #73	Howard, 6'0 231, was the LB MVP. He had a 30 inch vertical 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.51 shuttle, bench pressed 135 lbs 34 times and was physical during 1 on 1's.

NUC Combine to take Columbus by Storm this Weekend!

If you are an 8-11th grader that believes you are good enough to make it to the next level, Chillicothe High School is the place to be. This Saturday and Sunday, the National Underclassmen Combine makes their highly anticipated comeback to the same event that brought out the best in D1 bound athletes.

Amongst those was Middletown HS' Caleb Watkins, a light footed 6'3 205 lb pro style QB. Watkins has a good arm and can run when required, earning him seven division 1 offers. He will hope to throw strikes this fall when he joins Bowling Green's program.

Jerome HS Steve Mehrer also staked his claim as a big time prospect, tearing apart the competition just one year ago. The 6'1 220 lb linebacker is fast, athletic, strong and is a playmaker on defense. He also had 7 D1 offers and is expected to make a difference in the near future for Kent State.

"Ohio is definitely one of those interesting states since there are prospects coming from all over", said NUC CEO & President David Schuman. "We have seen a lot of good kids here and with a number of  D1 programs in the area, it appears that we will see a rapid increase in participation in this week's event."

The underclassmen also made quite the impression, with numerous top tier talents such as future D1 stars Allan Wasonga, Gaston Smith and Winston Fallon among others that displayed their impressive abilities in this very same city one year ago.

Current 8^th/9^th graders are slated to compete at 8 am and sophomores are scheduled to hit the field at 1 pm on Saturday, while juniors take center stage 1 pm Sunday.

All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard  dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions. In addition to the elite athletes receiving coverage on Rivals and Espn.com, statistics of every participant will be sent out to colleges at all three levels.
