2012 NUC East Five-Star Showcase Flashback
Robbinsville, New Jersey- The second annual NUC East Five-Star event was flat out dominated by the State of Virginia. There were 12 individual awards given out and seven went to players from Virginia. They were followed by Maryland with three award winners. The District of Columbia and the State of New York claimed one award winner each. Yes! The host state, New Jersey, was completely shutout of the awards.
Last year's East Five-Star Showcase ended up being a who's who of Eastern seaboard football. Below are just some of the athletes that were on hand for this prestigious event. Though he showed up late running back Taquan Mizzell still dominated the camp from start to finish earning Overall MVP. It was a close race for the top spot as 2014 standouts Quin Blanding and Andre Brown obliterated the competition at their position.
1.       Dontea Ayres, RB, Middletown, DE (2013) Rutgers Signee
This rocked up running back earned RB MVP by dominating the event.
2.       Quin Blanding, DB, Bayside, VA (2014) Virginia Commit
Blanding looks the part and acts the part of a top flight safety prospect.
3.       Andrew Brown, DL, Indian River, VA (2014) 30+ offers
Brown was in beast mode during one-on-ones earning DL MVP.
4.       Buddy Brown, LB, Williamston, NJ (2013) Temple Signee
Brown looked the part of a long lean outside linebacker.
5.       Chris Burton, TE, George Washington, VA (2013) Cincinnati Signee
Burton used his size and strength to create space earning TE MVP.
6.       Corwin Butler, QB, Ocean Lakes, VA (2013) Virginia Signee
Butler showed off a quick release and a strong arm along with natural leadership skills.
7.       Evrett Edwards, DB, Woodbridge, VA (2013) Duke Signee
Edwards had hips on a swivel and a smooth backpedal.
8.       Holland Fisher, DB, Manchester, VA (2013) Virginia Tech Signee
Simply put Fisher looks the part of a defensive intimidator.
9.       Marvin Gross, Jr., DL, Dunbar, MD (2013) West Virginia Signee
Gross has the skill set to project as a hybrid DE/LB.
10.   Jay Hayes, DL, Poly Prep, NY (2014) Notre Dame Commit
Hayes has the size and athleticism to project on either side of the ball.
11.   Caleb Henderson, QB, Lake Braddock, VA (2014) Eight plus offers
This huge pro-style quarterback proved to be the most accurate signal caller on the day.
12.   James Hendren, OL, Dexter, MA (2014) six plus offers
Most coaches could not believe that Hendren was only going to be a junior.
13.   Courtel Jenkins, DL, St. Anthony, NJ (2014) Pitt offer
Jenkins played the part of a true nose tackle using size and strength to inflict pain.
14.   AJ Long, QB, Friendship Christian, TN (2014) Syracuse Commit
Long was one of the more consistent throwers on the day.
15.   Taquan Mizzell, RB, Bayside, VA (2013) Virginia Signee
Simply put this back dominated the event from start to finish earning Overall MP.
16.   Kyle Queiro, ATH, Bergen Catholic, NJ (2013) Northwestern Signee
Queiro could play either safety or receiver for the Wildcats.
17.   Eric Tetlow, OL, Godwin, VA (2013) Virginia Signee
This huge offensive lineman could play several positions at the next level.
18.   William Ulmer, III, QB, St. John's College, DC (2014) 12+ offers
Ulmer just looks like an ultra-athletic signal caller.

2013 NUC East Five-Star Pre-Registration Players to Watch

Toms River, New Jersey- The East Five-Star will take placed at Toms River North High School at 1 pm sharp. Each athlete will take part in agility drills, position specific drills and one-on-ones. If you thought last year's NUC East Five-Star was a smashing success then you will be utterly impressed with this year's event. There are twice as many athletes pre-registered for this event than the previous year.
The big question is whether or not the football players of New Jersey will strike back with a vengeance? Or will Virginia come in and steal the limelight for the second consecutive year. This event will be receiving coverage from all the top Recruiting Services ESPN, 247 Sports, Rivals.com, and Scout.com. So if you're an elite recruit with something to prove this is your perfect opportunity to shine.
