| Stephenson vs. SW DeKalb Clarkston, Georgia- If you love pageantry and defensive football then this was the game to attend. The infamous SW DeKalb band jammed all game long and beyond. But it was the Stephenson defense that shined on the football field. The Jaguars would walk away with a 32 to 0 while improving to (4-0/4-0). This is one of Coach Ron Gartrell's most disciplined Stephenson, GA teams in recent history. The Jaguars were only flagged four times for 35 yards while holding SW DeKalb, GA to less than 100 yards of total offense. The Panthers only crossed midfield once and that was on an interception return. Stephenson, GA used a balanced attack rushing for 169 yards and passing of 137 yards. They were only forced to punt twice and committed just one turnover in the game. They now have a week off before playing region foe Tucker, GA (5-0). Tucker is currently ranked #2 in GHSA AAAAA and Stephenson is ranked #4 in GHSAA AAAAA. This showdown will take place at Hallford Stadium on October 12. |

| Stephenson Kight Dallas, LB, 6-1/215 (2013) Stats/Highlights: Dallas was in on six tackles and had a pass breakup. Assets: Dallas is a very thick linebacker that loves to strike ball carriers. He may be the type of athlete the Gamecocks use as the Spur in their 3-5-3 defense. He did a nice job of dropping in coverage while getting good depth allowing him to close off passing lanes. He is one of the main reasons that the Panther offense could not run the ball. Development: He could improve his lateral movement a tad. To his defense Dallas is still making the transition from defensive end to linebacker. Recruiting: Committed to South Carolina Jordan Harris, OL, 6-5/270 (2014) Stats/Highlights: Harris played right offensive tackle the entire game helping the Jaguars to 306 yards of total offense. Assets: Harris may be the best looking offensive lineman on the hoof that Stephenson has ever had. He has no bad body weight and a frame that can easily hold another 30 pounds. He has the athleticism to reach the second level. His arms are very long and he gets full extension when run blocking. This offensive lineman has a very bright future. By the way he is the brother of South Carolina freshman offensive lineman Joe Harris. Development: The biggest area that Harris needs to improve upon is running his feet after engaging a defender during run blocking. He could also work on staying squared up on pass rushers. Recruiting: No offers yet but he is a major DI prospect Justin Holman*, QB, 6-3/185 (2013) Stats/Highlights: Holman completed 7 of 14 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for four yards on four attempts. Assets: Holman has the desired height for a signal caller and a fairly strong arm. He is at his best throwing the deep ball with the right amount of touch and air underneath the ball. His mobility allows him to buy plenty of time in the pocket while the defense breaks down. Development: He needs to be more consistent with his weight transfer when throwing the ball. Right now he is rail thin so adding some muscle mass will help him break tackles and gain yards with his feet. Recruiting: Committed to South Carolina Tyler Jones, OL, 6-4/265 (2014) Stats/Highlights: Jones played left offensive tackle the entire game while helping lead the balance Jaguar attack. Assets: This offensive lineman also has excellent overall body structure with very little bad body weight. His frame can easily hold another 25 pounds of muscle mass. His ability to get to the second level is his biggest asset. He is a smidgen shorter than his teammate Harris and may eventually project as an athletic guard. Either way he is versatile enough to play several positions along the line. Development: No offers yet but he is a major DI prospect Recruiting: Jones needs to work on staying squared up on the pass rusher. Once he adds more strength he will be able to totally dominate defenders at the point of attack. Khalil Ladler, DB, 5-11/175 (2016) Stats/Highlights: Ladler was in on five stops none better than his open field tackle in the flats for little gain. Assets: This young corner already has great height, long arms and is not afraid to come up in run support. He definitely has hips on a swivel and uses his superior athleticism to get off blocks to make plays. He ran all over the field to make a couple tackles on players that changed direction. But his biggest asset is his ability to fly out out of his backpedal to make plays. Development: This kid has all the tools to become a potential superstar. He needs to stay focused on being the best while getting his high school academics off on the right foot. Recruiting: It is way too early but if he continues to develop Ladler will become a national level recruit. Jared Tucker*, DB, 6-0/175 (2014) Stats/Highlights: Tucker was in on four tackles and had an interception. Assets: Tucker has good height and excellent overall speed. He attacks the ball with his hands and can make things happen once the ball is picked off. His skill set will allow him to project as a corner or cover safety at the next level. Those skills are also ideal for kick return. Development: He is still a tad thin and will need to add about 15 pounds of muscle mass while maintaining his overall athleticism. This will help durability while also improving his impact on tackles. Recruiting: He currently has seven FBS offers (Kentucky, Mississippi St., Ole Miss, South Carolina, UCF, USF, and Vanderbilt. Jonathan Wynn, DL, 6-4/215 (2013) Stats/Highlights: Wynn was in on five stops one of which was a sack. Assets: Wynn has nice height and a great frame for adding more weight. Right now he could be considered a hybrid DE/LB at the next level. His long elegant strides allow him to chase plays from behind and top come screaming off the edge as a pass rusher. The skill set he possesses will allow him to be a pass rushing specialist at defensive end or outside linebacker. Development: Right now he is pretty thin and in order to play defensive end he will need to add about 25 pounds of muscle mass. He will need to learn how to play on two feet and in space if the Gamecocks have him projected as an outside linebacker. Recruiting: Committed to Vanderbilt |

| SW DeKalb Robert Brice, DB/ATH, 5-11/180 (2013) Stats/Highlights: Brice played RB, QB, WR, and DB in the game. He was in on four tackles, one PBU, and a blocked XP while accumulating 25 yards of offense. Assets: Brice has excellent size for a DI corner prospect. He possesses long arms and he has excellent recovery speed with hips on a swivel. His ball skills are above average for a defender which gives him a chance to become a difference maker at the next level. It is hard to believe that he does not have more offers. Development: He is a bit thin especially in the lower body. Adding more weight will help him make a bigger impact when striking ball carriers. There is little doubt that his projected position is corner. Recruiting: He has offers from Ball State, Georgia Southern. Juston Mincy, DB, 6-1/190 (2013) Stats/Highlights: Mincy played safety and receiver in the game. He was the leading tackler for the Panthers with ten stops and an interception. Assets: In the first half this guy was a tackling machine. He comes up from his deep safety position with a head of steam and just crushes ball carriers. Mincy also showed off excellent speed on his interception return which was one of the few bright spots for the Panthers. His size will allow him to be a real intimidator in the secondary. Development: Though he made a nice interception later in the game he dropped a key pass that would have been a first down. He has to watch the ball all the way into his hands before getting vertical. Any college looking for a run stopping safety needs to take a look at this guy. Recruiting: He has offers from Georgia Southern and Wake Forest Joshua Patrick, LB, 6-0/215 (2013) Stats/Highlights: This inside linebacker recorded seven tackles in the game. Assets: Patrick is one thick looking inside linebacker with excellent lower body structure. He loves to run his feet through the tackle making sure the ball carrier is stopped in his tracks. He definitely has an affinity for contact which is imperative to the position. This guy plays downhill. Development: He could work on his lateral movement a tad which will help in chasing plays to the boundary. I also feel he is a legit DI prospect that MAC, MWC, C-USA need to take a hard look at. Recruiting: He has a South Carolina State offer at his time. Others who impressed: Raylen Elzy, WR, Stephenson (2014); Evan Jones, RB, Stephenson (2013); Dexter Neal, WR, Stephenson (2015); Brandon Washington, RB, Stephenson (2013). |
