2012 NUC Big 12 Spring Report

Now that spring ball is over for colleges around the country the National Underclassmen would like to take a look at former NUC Alumni that will have an impact this fall. The third conference we will take a look at is the Big12. Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech clearly lead the way with NUC players of impact. Each player is listed with their position, high school, and year of eligibility. Below are just some of the former NUC stars that have a chance to impact the 2012 Big East season for their respective schools.
 
Baylor
1.     Sam Holl, S, Katy, TX, Junior
Holl was leading tackler last year with 113 stops and three picks
2.     Stephan Huber, OC, Nederland, TX, Junior
Huber will provide depth behind senior Ivory Wade.
3.     Glasco Martin, RB, Stony Point, TX, Junior
Martin ran for 268 yards and two scores last season.
4.     Tyler Stephenson, CB, Lancaster, TX Junior
Stephenson provides depth at the corner position
 
Iowa State
1.     Tom Farniok,  OC, Washington, SD, Sophomore
Farniok will be a two-year starter this fall.
2.     Jeremiah George, ILB, Clearwater, FL, Junior
George played in all 13 games last year and backs up All-Big12 linebacker AJ Klein.
3.     Shontrelle Johnson, RB, Deland, FL, Junior
Johnson started four games last year and ran for 247 yards before an injury cut his season short.
 
Kansas
1.     Dylan Admire, OG, Blue Valley West, KS, Freshman
Last season Admire redshirted and is now on the two-deep chart for the fall.
2.     Brandon Bourbon, RB, Potosi, MO, Sophomore
Bourbon ran for 190 yards and one score as a freshman.
3.     JaCorey Shepherd, WR, Mesquite Horn, TX, Sophomore
Shepherd caught 15 passes for 252 yards and three scores as a freshman.
 
Kansas State
1.     Curry Sexton, WR, Abilene, KS, Sophomore
Sexton caught four passes and made five tackles as a freshman.
 
Oklahoma
1.     Aaron Colvin, S, Owasso, OK, Junior
Colvin was team's leading tackler with 84 stops and six PBU's.
2.     Trey Franks, WR, West Orange-Stark, TX, Junior
Franks caught 22 passes and had 821 all-purpose yards last season.
3.     Quentin Hayes, S, Lancaster, TX, Sophomore
Hayes is listed as a on the two-deep for this fall.
4.     Gabe Ikard, OG, Bishop McGuinness, OK, Junior
Ikard was named First Team All-Big12 last year.
5.     Bronson Irwin, OG, Mustang, OK, Junior
Irwin is listed on the depth chart as a backup at both guard positions.
6.     Kameel Jackson, WR, Sam Houston, TX, Sophomore
Jackson caught 12 passes for 165 yards as a freshman.
7.     Tony Jefferson, S/LB, Eastlake, CA, Junior
Jefferson was team's third leading tackler with 74 stops, 7.5 TFL's, and four picks.
8.     Kenny Stills, WR, La Costa Canyon, CA, Junior
Stills' was named Second Team All-Big12 with 61 catches for 849 yards and eight touchdowns.
 
Oklahoma State
1.     Jonovan Griffin, CB, McKinney Boyd, TX, Freshman
Griffin redshirted last season and should provide depth in the secondary.
2.     Demarcus Sherod, ILB, Columbia, GA, Freshman
Sherod redshirted last season and is listed on the two-deep chart this fall.
 
Texas
1.     Joe Bergeron, RB, North Mesquite, TX, Sophomore
Bergeron ran for 463 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman.
2.     Dominic Espinosa, OC, Cedar Park, TX, Sophomore
Espinosa started every game as a redshirt freshman.
3.     Desmond Jackson, DT, Westfield, TX, Sophomore
Jackson played in all 13 games last year as a freshman recording 10 tackles.
4.     Case McCoy, QB, Graham, TX, Junior
McCoy started five games and threw for 1,045 yards and seven touchdowns.
5.     Alex Okafor, DE, Pflugerville, TX, Senior
Okafor was named First Team All-Big12 with 58 tackles, 14 TFL's, and seven sacks.
 
Texas Christian
1.     David Porter, III, WR, DeSoto, TX, Sophomore
Porter caught seven passes for 109 yards and two scores as a freshman.
2.     Cam White, WR, DeSoto, TX, Sophomore
White caught six passes for 90 yards as a freshman.
 
Texas Tech
1.     Michael Brewer, QB, Lake Travis, TX, Freshman
Brewer redshirted last year but lit it up in the Spring Game going 21 for 28 for 297 and two TD passes.
2.     Daniel Cobb, LB, Ellison, TX, Junior
Cobb made 70 tackles and 7.5 TFL's last season
3.     Blake Dees, LB, Spanish Fort, AL, Sophomore
Dees recorded 32 tackles and four TFL's as a freshman.
4.     Kindred Evans, DE, South Grand Prairie, TX, Sophomore
Evans played in 11 games last season and is expected to have an impact this year.
5.     Alfredo Morales, OL, Sam Houston, TX, Sophomore
Morales played some as a true freshman but should see serious playing time this fall.
6.     Tony Morales, OL, Sam Houston, TX, Freshman
Morales received a medical redshirt last season and should see playing time this fall.
7.     Jeremy Reynolds, CB, Dudley, NC, Freshman
Reynolds redshirted last season but should see playing time this fall.
8.     DeAndre Washington, RB, Missouri City Marshall, TX, Junior
Washington ran for 366 yards and three touchdowns and caught 19 passes.
 
West Virginia
1.     Andrew Buie, RB, Trinity Christian, FL, Sophomore
Buie ran for 172 yards and one score while catching 13 passes as a freshman.
