On Monday afternoon LB Tanner Vallejo (Grass Valley, Ca/Nevada Union HS) received yet another Pac 12 college offer but this particular offer excited him in many ways.
"I have heard nothing but great things about Coach Leach and I am excited to have an official offer from Washington State," said Vallejo. "I know Coach Leach runs a great offense and the excitement he is bringing to their program is something that entices me."
Vallejo received an official offer from Washington St on Monday to go along with his growing list of offers. He has seen his recruitment fire up within the past month as he has seen coaches come through with offers and things don't look to be slowing down anytime soon.
"I am up to a total of seven offers now and I have been talking with several other schools who seem very interested in my abilities," said Vallejo. "Arizona St, Notre Dame and California have been talking to me a lot lately. They tell me that they like my highlight tape and that they want to see me perform in person. They also make me feel like I could receive an offer from them at any point. I gaining interest and hearing from new coaches each day so my recruiting process is going real well for me at this time."
Vallejo is a smart and physical linebacker that lives and breathes the game of football. He is someone that is willing to do anything it takes to make sure his team succeeds. Vallejo is training hard during the offseason to make sure he is completely ready for his upcoming senior season.
"I am having fun right now working out with my teammates and getting ready to lead my team to a state title," said Vallejo. "I am going into my last year of high school football so I would love to leave a legacy and be able to bring a state championship to my high school. I have strong work ethic and I grind every day to keep myself in tip top shape. I want to be fully prepared and set to lead my team as a senior."
Vallejo is currently going through the process of learning about all the schools that have offered as well as the schools that is showing interest. He is earning new offers more and more each day and Vallejo is sure to have a long list of schools to choose from when it comes time to make a commitment.
He seems to be in no rush to make any decisions any time soon. Vallejo is wanting to take his time to research each school recruiting him and catch a better feeling as to who seems to be the most interested in his talents.
"Right now I have no favorites or any time table on any decisions," said Vallejo. "I have all my offered schools out in front right now but honestly everyone recruiting me at this time is on equal ground. I would like to try to make a commitment by the start of my senior year but if I have to drag it on longer then I will do just that."
Vallejo is currently in the process in setting up his summer and trying to find places to visit. He is wanting to take a few visits this summer as well as attend a few camps and get the chance to see college campuses up close and personal. Vallejo is also looking to take official visits in the fall and after that could be where he makes his final decision.
"I am looking forward to visiting schools this summer and having the chance to see what the schools are offering me when it comes to a college atmosphere," said Vallejo. "I am not too sure what now who exactly I will see this summer but I do know I plan to camp at California on June 3rd. After receiving the Washington St offer it has made me seriously think about visiting them as well. I do want to take all my official visits but if I find the perfect fit for me before I finish my visits then I will end my officials early. I have a long way to go but I feel totally blessed to be in the position I am in today."
