2012 NUC Big East Spring Report

Now that spring ball is over for colleges around the country the National Underclassmen would like to take a look at former NUC Alumni that will have an impact this fall. The second conference we will take a look at is the Big East. Each player is listed with their position, high school, and year of eligibility. Below are just some of the former NUC stars that have a chance to impact the 2012 Big East season for their respective schools.
 
Cincinnati
1.     Ralph Abernathy, IV, RB, Westminster, GA, Sophomore
He returned 39 kickoffs for 1,034 yards and one touchdown.
2.     Deven Drane, CB, Plantation, FL, Junior
Starting corner recorded 42 tackles, three picks, and nine PBU's last year.
 
Connecticut
1.     Geremy Davis, WR, Norcross, GA, Sophomore
Davis is projected to start after catching six passes for 73 yards last year.
2.     Dwayne Gratz, CB, Piscataway, NJ, Senior
Gratz was named Second Team All-Big East last year with 53 tackles, three picks, and four PBU's.
3.     Taylor Mack, CB, Lovett, GA, Junior
Mack should see more playing time this year after appearing in eight games last year.
4.     Chandler Whitmer, QB, Downers Grove South, IL, Junior
Whitmer transferred in this spring from Butler C.C. and threw the only two TD passes in the spring game.
 
Louisville
1.     Keith Brown, LB, Norland, FL, Freshman
After redshirting last season Brown should see plenty of playing time this fall.
2.     Brandon Dunn, DL, Pleasure Park Ridge, KY, Junior
Dunn recorded 16 tackles last year and is slotted to start this fall.
3.     Michaelee Harris, WR, Northwestern, FL, Sophomore
Last year Harris caught 37 passes for 455 yards and two scores.
4.     Andrew Johnson, CB, Southridge, FL, Sophomore
Johnson recorded 25 tackles and four PBU's last year.
5.     DeVante Parker, WR, Ballard, KY, Junior
Parker caught 18 passes for 291 yards and six scores last season.
 
Pittsburgh
1.     Bryan Murphy, DE, Don Bosco Prep, NJ, Junior
Murphy is #1 on the depth chart at DE after spring ball.
2.     Artie Rowell, OC, Central Dauphin, PA, Freshman
After redshirting last season Rowell should see some playing time this fall.
3.     K'Waun Williams, CB, St. Joseph Regional, NJ, Junior
Williams recorded 64 tackles, five TFL's, and six PBU's last year.
4.     Eric Williams, LB, Pennsburg, PA, Sophomore
Williams is #1 on the OLB depth chart for this fall.
 
Rutgers
1.     Steve Beauharnais, LB, Saddle Brook, NJ, Senior
Second leading tackler recorded 77 stops, 16 TFL's, five sacks, and three picks.
2.     Brandon Coleman, WR, Bishop McNamara, MD, Sophomore
Coleman snagged 17 passes for 552 yards and six scores.
3.     Duron Harmon, DB, Caesar Rodney, DE, Senior
Harmon recorded 49 tackles and five picks last season.
4.     Savon Huggins, RB, St. Peter's Prep, NJ, Sophomore
As a true freshman he ran for 146 yards and five scores.
5.     Jawan Jamison, RB, Bolles, FL, FL, Sophomore
Jamison was leading rusher with 897 yards and nine scores.
6.     Logan Ryan, CB, Eastern, NJ, Junior
Ryan was named Second Team All-Big East after recording 67 tackles, three picks, and 14 PBU's.
7.     Scott Vallone, DT, St. Anthony's, NY, Senior
Vallone had 58 tackles and eight and a half TFL's last season.
8.     Lorenzo Waters, S, Dematha, MD, Sophomore
Waters recorded ten tackles last year and should start this fall.
9.     Tim Wright, WR, Wall, NJ, Senior
Wright recorded 11 catches for 147 yards and two scores last year.
 
South Florida
1.     Spencer Boyd, S, Cape Coral, FL, Sophomore
Boyd should see more playing time this fall.
2.     Todd Chandler, DT, Northwestern, FL, Sophomore
Chandler should finally see meaningful playing time this fall.
3.     Victor Marc, WR, Hallandale, FL, Senior
Marc snagged 33 passes for 357 yards and two scores.
 
Syracuse
1.     Cory Boatman, DT, Good Counsel, MD, Senior
Boatman is slotted to be the starting nose tackle this fall.
2.     Zach Chibane, OG, Paramus, NJ, Senior
Chibane will be a three year starter this fall.
3.     Alec Lemon, WR, Arundel, MD, Senior
Lemon was named Second Team All-Big East after recording 68 catches for 834 yards and six scores.
4.     Jeremi Wilkes, S, Tampa Catholic, FL, Junior
Wilkes had 41 tackles, one pick, and two PBU's last year.
 
Temple
1.     Levi Brown, DT, Liberty, PA, Junior
Brown had 23 tackles and three and a half TFL's last year.
2.     Chris Hutton, CB, Paul, VI, NJ, Sophomore
Hutton is slotted for serious playing time this fall.
3.     Zamel Johnson, S, Port Richmond, NY, Junior
Johnson had 28 tackles, one pick, and two PBU's.
