Charles Mack (Wesleyan HS, GA) has long been waiting for his first official college offer to come his way and on Monday that offer finally arrived. Mack received an offer from the University of South Florida on Monday and he couldn't be more excited to finally know that he has a shot to play D1 college football.
"It feels so good to get that first offer," said Mack. "I have been waiting and working hard for a long time and sometimes it crossed my mind if I would ever get that offer, but I stayed positive and now it feels nice to have an official offer from South Florida."
Mack recently visited South Florida and he has been in contact with the Bulls coaching staff for a while now. He enjoyed his trip to Tampa and he thought after the visit was over that an offer could be on its way.
"I have had a good relationship with the coaches at USF for a while now and after my trip there I really hoped they would me and now I have it," said Mack. "They made me feel at home when I visited and they said they was very impressed with my film and how I looked in person. When they called to offer me I was excited and blessed that they wanted me to be a part of their football program and I will keep the Bulls in my recruitment all the way throughout my process."
Mack feels that his recruitment is about to heat up since his first official offer came in. He has been in contact with several high major football programs and with that first offer in he could see other schools finally decide to jump into the mix.
"I have been talking with a lot of coaches for a while now and I hoping with my first offer here it could lead to more coming through," said Mack. "Schools like UCF, Mississippi St, Middle Tennessee St, Georgia Tech, Duke, Vanderbilt, Tulsa and Illinois have been talking with me a lot and I would say UCF and MTSU have been recruiting me the hardest. I recently visited UCF as well and I really like the coaches down there. I could see an offer coming from them somewhere in the near future."
Mack is planning to camp at several of the schools that are currently interested in him, but he has yet to set up any dates. He has an open mind at this time and is willing to look at any school that he feels will fit his needs in a college home.
"I have no current favorites but I do think highly of South Florida since they became my first official offer," said Mack. "I have no time table on making any decisions because I plan to visit and camp at several college campuses this summer. I want to find the place that offers me the best in both education and athletics. I will take my time and make sure I make the best choice for me, but it finally feels good to have that first offer in."
