Strengths: Barron is a strong and physical offensive lineman who could turn out to be one of the top interior offensive line prospects coming out of the Midwest for the 2014 recruiting class. Barron currently plays on the inside of the offensive line at the guard position but his smarts and quickness off the ball allow him the possibility of translating into a center in the collegiate game. Barron is a highly intelligent offensive lineman who displays the strength needed to get to the second level while also being able to make all the coverage calls at the line of scrimmage. Barron is also a bruising young man who loves the physicality that comes with the game of football. He really digs his hand in the ground and explodes off the ball. Barron has the frame needed to compete in the trenches on the collegiate football field. He has the versatility to play both inside offensive line positions. Barron has a lot tools needed to play on the highest level of college football.
Weaknesses: Barron is already well ahead of the curve for an offensive lineman but certainly has tons to improve on within the next couple of years. Barron has the talents and potential to play multiple positions in college but has yet to experience that in high school. Barron has quick feet that allow him to stay with his opponent but his overall fundamentals need improvement and he needs to continue to work on his pass blocking. Barron is outstanding in the run blocking area but needs more work on his overall pass blocking skills. Barron sometimes gets too stiff when getting into his stance and that helps the defender get past him on his way to the quarterback. More work on the practice field and inside the weight room should do Barron well on his path towards Division 1 football.
Overview: Barron is an up and coming offensive lineman out of Indiana who lives and breathes the game of football and works hard every day hoping to reach his dream of playing Division 1 college football. Barron has the intelligence and physical nature that college coaches look for and a few schools have already started calling. Barron has received interest so far from Oregon, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Southern Illinois and South Alabama and he is hoping a long summer of camps and combines that his name starts to reach other college coaches from all sorts of different regions. Barron has the versatility and talents to play either guard or center in college and he is working hard to improve in all facets of his game hoping to one day play college football in a BCS level conference.
