Gulliver Prep HS in Miami, Florida has a pass rushing defensive end that at one point wasn't hearing from any coaches or receiving much interest, but now Stacy Thomas (6'3 222lbs) has seen the attention come his way especially from some football programs that consistently plays for national titles.

Two days ago Thomas picked up official offers from Florida State University and the LSU Tigers to go along with his previous offers from Louisville and Duke. Stacy is an up and coming football prospect that displays natural athleticism and the ability to get after the quarterback on a consistent basis. He is a fast and disrupting force that has popped up quickly on the recruiting scene and college coaches have wasted no time in extending him offers.

"It has been crazy so far and I never expected to receive offers from Florida State and LSU. They both contacted me and said they love my ability of the edge and that I am not even close to reaching my potential. Both coaching staffs seemed really excited about offering me and that makes me feel good about myself and that I am needed and wanted somewhere, said Thomas."

Stacy is at the beginning of his recruiting process and every day more and more schools seem to come in contact with him and speak to him about their interest in his talents. He says that the attention he is currently receiving couldn't get any better. He really enjoys hearing from college coaches and having them tell him that they are interested in having him a part of their football programs.

"Recently within the last month I have been receiving increased attention from all sorts of coaches in college football and I love each and every moment I get to hear from them. Besides getting the offers from Florida State and LSU, I have been hearing a good bit from Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami FL, South Carolina and Florida International. Florida in particular has been talking to me a lot lately and I feel they could turn out becoming my next offer, said Thomas."

While waiting for his next offer to arrive, Stacy Thomas is planning a long offseason where he will compete at multiple junior day camps and make several visits to college campuses.

"Right now I have it planned to compete at Florida's junior day camp on February 18th and with Florida State on the 25th. I am also working on setting up camps with Miami FL, LSU and South Carolina. I am looking forward to each camp and having the opportunity to show off my talents in front of the coaches, said the Gulliver Prep standout."

Stacy has the look of a high level football prospect that should eventually have all of the major football programs coming after him, but he would like to take his time with his process and not make any rash decision that might make him think twice. He wants to use all the time he has throughout his recruitment to sort through all the schools interested in him and come up with the best decision for him.

"I have the plan right now to make my college commitment on Signing Day of next year. I like the idea of being able to make my decision on the day where everyone is tuned in to find out where their favorite players will attend college. I also just want to use all the time I have to make my choice because this process is brand new to me and something I need to learn more about and something I would like to take my time with. I am wide open to everyone and excited to see where my recruitment goes throughout this year, said Thomas."
