2012/2013 Recruiting News & Notes
-c/o 2013 Ath Tshumbi Johnson (Immokalee, FL/Immokalee HS) is a dynamic football prospect who has the skills to contribute in a major way on either side of the ball in the college game and coaches from that level have already taken a serious interest in his abilities. Tshumbi plays QB for his high school team but looks to become an outstanding defensive back prospect at the college level. No offers yet, Johnson is heavily being recruited by Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami FL, LSU, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kansas with extra attention coming from the Jayhawks and the Volunteers. Tshumbi believes his first offer could come from either one of those two schools. Johnson has been able to take unofficial visits to both Florida State and Miami FL so far, and he plans to see every school recruiting him this offseason. He claims early favorites in LSU, Auburn, Wisconsin and Kansas but he does want to remain open to all schools interested so he can be sure he makes the right decision for him. Tshumbi is willing to play any position he is asked of in college. He just wants a chance to display his talents and play on the highest level possible in college football. 2011 Stats:(Off/QB) 2,633 yards passing, 25 Td's. 1,100 yards rushing, 19 Td's (Def/S) 22 tackles 1 Int
-c/o 2013 OLB Reggie McGee from Olney, Maryland (Our Lady of Good Counsel HS) is a fast and athletic linebacker who has the range to play in coverage or line up outside and bring fear with his pass rush. Reggie has the frame and size (6'3 197lbs) to gain more strength and become a feared tackling machine at the collegiate football level and so far he has picked official offers from Mississippi State, North Carolina State and Purdue with strong interest coming from others. Virginia, Georgia Tech, Rutgers and Temple are also showing interest in Reggie and he believes his next offer could come from this group of schools. Originally from Mississippi, McGee has strong ties to the south and this past football season he was able to take an unofficial visit to Mississippi State University and they look to be the early leader for his services. Reggie wants to remain open as long as possible. He wants to take his time with his decision and be able to see as many schools as he can before he is ready to make his final decision. Reggie McGee has loads of potential and after an offseason in the weight room; he should be a rising recruit who ends up being recruited by the best of the best of college football. 2011 Stats: 39 tackles 4 sacks 2 forced fumbles
-c/o 2012 WR Kevius Morgan (Fort Lauderdale, FL/South Broward HS) is a long (6'3 189lbs) and athletic pass catcher that is still holding out hope for the big schools to come in and show interest before he ready to make his college decision. Morgan is a fluid and smooth wide out that has the ability to come down with the tough catch as well as beat his defender down the field with his speed. Kevius is an underrated receiver who has picked up official offers from Bowling Green, Richmond, Southern Illinois, Bucknell, Northern Colorado and North Carolina Central but a certain BCS program seems to be real interested and could eventually extend an offer. According to Morgan, the University of Georgia is interested in his abilities and has stayed in solid contact with him throughout the past couple of weeks. Kevius says that the Bulldogs like his size and the ability to go up after the ball. He thinks an offer could come from them and if they offered he would commit on the spot. Kevius is also receiving interest from Florida A&M, Davidson and Wagner. He has it in the works to take official visits starting within the next week, but he is unsure as to who he will see. Kevius actually claims a leader at this time in Richmond and he also says a decision could be coming soon before he makes his official visits. Morgan is a vastly under the radar prospect who could be a steal for whoever receives his commitment. 2011 Stats:28 catches 355 yards 1 Td
-c/o 2013 OT/OG Griffin Clyatt from Valdosta, Georgia (Valwood HS) is a versatile and athletic offensive lineman who could play multiple positions along the offensive line and he has the potential to play at the highest level of college football. Griffin stands 6'4 290lbs with the nimble feet and physical nature to shove his opponent out of the way and keep him off his quarterback the majority of the game. High School coaches in his area claim Griffin to be the most athletic lineman from his area in a long time, and coaches from the college level have already become interested and he could be close to receiving his first official college offer. Schools like Georgia, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Louisville and Marshall have taken an early interest in Clyatt with more schools becoming interested as the days go along. Griffin grew up a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and would hold them in high favor if they offered. This past fall, Griffin was able to take unofficial visits to both Vanderbilt and Notre Dame and he plans to see both places again this spring. He has a junior day camp planned for Georgia on January 28th and he is in the process of scheduling more camps for this summer. He has no time frame on when he would like to make his decision, and he would like to stay open so more schools can come in and offer him. Griffin is a still improving offensive lineman who should be one to follow throughout the 2013 recruiting class.
-c/o 2013 WR Dillon Tighe from Gambrills, Maryland (Arundel HS) is a sure handed and tough wideout who is not afraid of going across the middle to come up with the tough catch and is a complete teammate if there ever was one. Dillon has tons of passion for the game of football, and he looks forward to every moment he gets with his team. He strives to be the best wide receiver on the field and he is determined to play at the highest level of college football. No offers yet, Dillon is receiving the most attention from Maryland, Temple, Penn State, Michigan State, Rutgers, Missouri, Arkansas, Purdue, Virginia, SMU and New Hampshire. Dillon says that Maryland and Temple is currently recruiting him the most and that his first official offer could come from either one of those two. He is wide open to all schools and wants to find the place that will push him in both academics and on the football field. He has been able to take unofficial visits to SMU, Rutgers, Maryland and Virginia over this past summer, and he already has it in the works to see schools like Florida State, West Virginia, Notre Dame and Missouri this upcoming summer. Dillon would like to take as many visits possible this summer because his plan is to make his college decision before the start of his senior year in high school. Dillon is a quiet person off the field, but loud on it with his tough catches and precision route running and he should be a valuable addition to any school he eventually plays for. 2011 Stats: 36 catches 580 yards 8 Td's
-c/o 2012 DE JeMarcus Marshall (Monroe, La/Quachita Parrish HS) is a consistent and tough minded pass rusher who plays with energy to whole game and never lets his motor stop until he hears the final whistle. JeMarcus stands 6'3 225lbs and he has the length and size to become a tremendous pass rusher at the collegiate level. He is still floating under the radar when it comes to the big named programs in college. JeMarcus is currently committed to McNeese State Unviersity with other offers coming from Northwestern State, Arkansas Pine Bluff and Arkansas Tech. He is also gaining interest from Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Lafayette, Texas State and Southeastern Louisiana. JeMarcus is committed and happy with that, but he is also waiting to see if any bigger schools come calling because that is level he thinks he belongs on. He is taking official visits to both Arkansas Pine Bluff and Arkansas Tech later this month and he would like to see others before he has to sign his name on the dotted line. JeMarcus has the size and passion to become a much added addition to any Division 1 football program, and he hopes he gets that opportunity before Signing Day arrives. 2011 Stats: 85 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 3 forced fumbles
