NUC Lone Star's Shine Final Edition

NUC Lone Star's Shine Final Edition

The Texas high school football season has come to a close and the National Underclassmen would like to recognize 20 NUC Lone Stars on a successful 2011 season. Below are those players that have appeared throughout the season in the weekly article "Lone Star's Shine". Not only have we kept up with their individual stats but we followed their respective team's progress throughout the fall.

Three of our NUC Lone Star's ended up participating in the Texas UIL Football State Championships. Bralon Addison led his Hightower, TX Hurricanes to the 5A DI finals coming up one touchdown short of victory. Griffin Gilbert helped the Lake Travis, TX Cavaliers win their fifth consecutive 4A DI title. Trey Williams helped the Dekaney, TX Wildcats complete the 2011 Texas Football season with a 5A DII State Title.

It is now time to announce our NUC Lone Star Player of the Year. Trey Williams carried the ball a staggering 427 times for 3,884 yards while rushing for 48 touchdowns. The deciding factor on why he was chosen was his final performance in the 5A DII State Championship game. He carried the ball 25 times for 197 yards and three scores helping his team defeat previously unbeaten Cibilo Steele, TX 34-14. We would also like to recognize the runner-up for the award Bralon Addison who led his team to the 5A DI State Title game. Addison ran for 183 yards and two scores while throwing for one touchdown in 36-29 loss to Southlake Carroll, TX.

We look forward to a very successful NUC Camp season in the Lone Star State for 2012. Camps will be held in Austin, Dallas (2), Houston (2), and San Antonio this spring.
