Morris is Leaving the South for the Orange in Syracuse

Morris is Leaving the South for the Orange in Syracuse

Lawrenceville, Georgia RB George Morris is an undervalued and unheralded ball carrier who went through his recruiting process thinking that he would have every school in the South on him, but that didn't happen the way he would have liked it to go. George patiently waited for more schools to come into the picture, but there was always one school that showed him love and stayed in constant contact with him all the way throughout his recruitment, and that team is the Syracuse Orange. Well that persistence by the Orange finally paid off yesterday when George gave his college commitment to Syracuse University and he couldn't be happier about his decision, "I am so pumped about giving my commitment to Syracuse. It finally feels like I have a weight lifted off my chest and now I can focus on my family, friends, my senior year and knowing where I will attend college. I don't think I could have made a better choice for me and I can't wait until I start my experience with the Orange, said Morris."

George is a well put together running back because of his size (6'1 190 lbs) and explosiveness that he displays every time he is on the football field. He runs with a purpose every time he touches the ball, and his goal is to reach the end zone on every play that is called for him. George has excellent vision when hitting the hole, and he is also an outstanding receiver out of the backfield. George has tons of capabilities and talents to succeed on the college playing field and saw Syracuse as the place that would help him become the best player he can eventually be, "I am a hard worker first and foremost. I never give less than 110% at any moment I am playing the game of football. I am a complete team player that is always willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team. Syracuse is a blue collar kind of team and I think I fit in perfectly in their program. I think I made the best decision for me and the Orange will offer me the best chance to become the player I truly want to be, said Morris."

Throughout the process George Morris had always wanted to get his decision out of the way before Signing Day arrived. He wanted to have all the opportunities he needed before he was completely ready to make his commitment, and he was waiting to see if anymore schools would jump into his recruitment. Some schools like Illinois, Vanderbilt and Purdue came calling towards the latter parts of his recruiting process, but in the end Syracuse was always the school that showed him the most attention and made him feel the most wanted. "I choose Syracuse over East Carolina and Florida International. I mainly picked the Orange because they recruited me the hardest and stayed with me the longest throughout my whole recruitment. They made me feel wanted at every moment I spoke to the coaches. My relationship with Coach Wheatley and Coach Hackett is awesome and they made me feel apart of the team even when I was unsure as to who I will play with. They have a family up there in Syracuse and I can't wait to officially be apart of the Orange family, said the Central Gwinnett High School standout."
