Luka Alaupovic to play in National Underclassmen Combine All-World Gridiron Classic!
For Immediate Release
Mahwah, NJ (October 21, 2010) - International standout quarterback Luka Alaupovic of Croatia  will compete in the National Underclassmen Combine's All World Gridiron Classic.
Alaupovic, who is currently playing high school football in California, is amongst Europe's top football players and led his team to a dominant 47-0 victory in last week's game. Although he's been playing football in America for a very short time, a number of domestic programs have expressed serious interest in the Croatian sensation.
"I am really excited to see what Croatia's best player has to offer," exclaimed Coach David Schuman, the NUC's CEO and President. "There are a ton of outstanding  athletes all across the globe that have been overlooked, so hopefully Luka can open the door for international players."
While Schuman is anxiously awaiting to see what this international standout has to offer, Alaupovic is beyond thrilled to be participating in the All World Gridiron Classic.
"This is a great opportunity for me to show what I can do," said Alaupovic. "I think I'll be representing all of (Europe) in this game (and the top players who) don't even have a chance to play high school football in America."
The NUC All-World Gridiron Classic will showcase 114 elite high school seniors from all across the globe in a unique All-Star Game. Players from the two squads, Team NUC & Team World, will be drafted from the ground up by the coaching staff to ensure a level playing field. There will also be a full week of events leading up to game day for select All-World Underclassmen including 7 on 7's, linemen challenges and a combine.
More than 50 seniors have accepted invites to participate in the NUC All-World Gridiron Classic thus far, including Nationally rated linebacker Kentrell Brothers (Guthrie, OK), Georgia Tech bound linebacker Amarlo Herrera (College Park, GA),  Missouri bound wide receiver Wesley Leftwich (Columbia, MO) and amongst others. More roster announcements will follow in the coming weeks.
The NUC All-World Gridiron Classic kicks off from Columbia, SC at The Citadel's Johnson Hagood Stadium Friday, December 31, 2010 at 6 pm ET. Broadcast and ticket information will be announced shortly.
