Elite Athletes Shine At Riverwood HS!

Atlanta's second NUC event of 2010 was one worth the price of admission. The athletes were motivated, coaches were equally fired up and those in attendance were treated to a tremendous show from a gifted group of players.
Wilkinson County HS' Alvin Dupree was the top performer of the weekend, earning himself the Overall MVP during the junior session. The 6'4.5 220 lb Wilkonson plays TE, but has the skills of a WR, with excellent hands, tremendous speed and awareness of how to use his size. Dupree was a near flawless athlete, with a 35.5 inch vertical, 9'2 broad jump, 4.48 shuttle and 4.65 40 in his already stacked arsenal. He is currently fielding multiple offers and looks like a lock to be a difference maker at the next level.
Jibril Dandy's of Hoggard HS' surname was one that fits him perfectly, as he is exactly that to watch on the football field. The 6'1 315 lb Dandy was in a class of his own during 1 on 1's, displaying exceptional strength, terrific moves, a good punch and more importantly, scary potential. Dandy's ability to blow past the o-lineman are simply scary.
Nicholas Thrasher (Mount Zion) has great size (6'0 225), terrific skills and solid athleticism for a linebacker. Thrasher was fired up during the 1 on 1's, listened well, had good agility and cat like quickness in reacting to the ball. In addition to looking like a tackle machine, Thrasher had a 9'0 broad jump while running a 4.44 shuttle. His size, well rounded talent and willingness to improve are something a coach has to love.
Elite Underclassmen
·        Bryan Dorsey (Lumpkin County) capped off the sophomore session with a performance that placed him amongst the elite. The 6'2 212 lb D-lineman has fast hands, great agility, nice athleticism (jumping 8'11 in the broad) and solid strength, bench pressing 185 lbs 23 times. During the 1 on 1's Dorsey dominated  and was virtually unstoppable, which subsequently earned him the Overall MVP and Strongest Man awards.

·        Kenneth "talk of the" Towns (Westover) made getting open look easy. The 6'2.5 199 lb wide receiver had good moves and was nimble, consistently creating separation between himself  and the DB's. Towns was also an elite athlete, jumping 32 inches in the vertical, 9'2 during the broad jump, running a 4.52 shuttle and 4.61 40. Towns' athleticism and pure skill as a wide out were clearly evident from the moment he stepped on the field

·        Xavier Bond (Harris County) scaled in at 5'9 172 and stepped off the field as a hot topic. Bond is an elite athlete (35.5 inch vertical, 10'0 broad jump, 4.25 shuttle, 4.56 40) and has a tremendous skill set. Bond has good hands, quick feet, moves well with the ball and is definitely a dual threat.

·        Freshman Anthony Young (White Station) was the top performer of a deeply talented class of 2013 session. The 5'10 168 lb Young is a gifted running back with great hands who runs nice routes and is hard to cover. He also moves well and is a terrific athlete, with a 32 inch vertical, 9'1 broad jump and 4.68 40 leading him to the Overall MVP and Combine King awards.

·        Westside MS' Stanley Williams placed himself amongst the best 8th graders in all of 2010 with a tremendous performance from end to end. At 5'7 158, Williams had a 29.5 inch vertical, 9'2 broad jump, ran a 4.65 shuttle and 4.68 40, which were off the charts for a player who is yet to reach high school. Williams starred during the 1 on 1's, displaying great hands, quick feet, an excellent work ethic and leadership skills. Few, if any, 8th graders are as good as Williams.
