Interview with Dallas LB MVP/Future D1 Star Alexander Lyons!



Coach Schuman: What did you do to prepare for the National Underclassmen Combine?
Alexander Lyons: My regimen like workout at the school prepared me for the National Underclassmen Combine. I also watched the NFL combine on TV.

Coach Schuman: Have you been to the NUC before? How did you do? What were your expectations going into this years event?
Alexander Lyons: Yes, twice last year. I was awarded the LB MVP at both events, the LB MVP for the Ultimate 100 and I was invited to the Top Prospect in Oklahoma. My expectations going into this years event was to compete and do better than I did last year.

Coach Schuman: You were MVP! What are your goals now?
Alexander Lyons: To constantly improve my skills and strive to become the best athlete of the combine.

Coach Schuman: How did you hear about the National Underclassmen Combine and what was your favorite part about the event?
Alexander Lyons: I heard about the National Underclassmen Combine through a 7 on 7 coach. My favorite part was the 1 on 1's and competing with other talented prospects in my region.

Coach Schuman: If you can choose 5 schools where you would be interested in playing what would they be?
Alexander Lyons: Florida, LSU, Texas, OU and USC

Coach Schuman: What do you like about high school football? What are your goals for your team and yourself?
Alexander Lyons: The competition, team work, brotherhood, trust and camaraderie. My goals for my team is to win a state championship. The goal for myself is to be the best linebacker I can be to help my team win a state championship.

Coach Schuman: Do you play other sports? Tell me about your accomplishments?
Alexander Lyons: Yes, I played basketball and I threw the shot put in Junior High School. I won the MVP for basketball and I won first place in the shot put competition.

Coach Schuman: What is your favorite thing about football? What makes it a great sport to you?
Alexander Lyons: I enjoy the competition. The adrenalin rush of being on the field making the big play and knowing I'm helping the team win.

Coach Schuman: Tell me about your training regimen...How do you get better every day?
Alexander Lyons: My training regimen consist of weight lifting and running for a total of 3 hours per day. I get better every day by increasing my reps, building my speed, eat more healthy foods, and try to out work my teammates by giving it all I got.

Coach Schuman: What are you looking for in a college? Academically? football?
Alexander Lyons: Academics and football, In academics, I'm looking to get my bachelors and a masters degree; In football I want a chance to play football and the opportunity to win a national championship.
