Juniors Put Together a session to remember in Dallas!

Ty Hook came into the combine looking to star and left the event as an athlete we will never forget. Mission accomplished and then some.

The Denton Ryan HS star stepped onto the field 5'11.5 217 and ended his day with people buzzing about his jaw dropping performance. Hook, the Combine King and Strongest Man award winner, had a 35.5 inch vertical, 10'0 broad jump, ran a 4.36 shuttle, 4.48 40 and bench pressed 185 lbs 32 times. He also had tremendous intensity during 1 on 1's, using his unprecedented athleticism to lock up the offense.

Simply put, there are top notch NFL players who can't produce the numbers Hook, a muscular linebacker, did. The sky is truly the limit for this kid, who put together one of if not the best stat cards in NUC history.

As good as Hook was, Sam Houston's Kameel Jackson ran the show from an offensive standpoint en route to taking home the Overall MVP. The 5'11.5 195 lb WR had a 31 inch vertical 9'9 broad jump, ran a 4.15 shuttle, 4.5 40 and was an absolute beast during 1 on 1's. Jackson, who is headed to The University of Oklahoma in fall 11'.  has good size, excellent speed, created space between himself and the DB's and had the hands of an NFL All-Pro receiver.

Jalen Parker (Duncanville) and James Driskell (McKinney Boyd) shared the WR MVP. Both are undersized (Parker 5'5, 134 and Driskill, 5'8.5 151) but had solid athleticism and pure position skill. Each had an 8'11.5 broad jump, ran shuttles in the 4.50 range and Driskell also darted across the field in 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash. With good hands and tightly ran routes, both have a bright future.

Zack Knickman (Lake Highlands) has good potential and the heart of a champion. The 5'6 190 lb running back won the Leadership Award after simply refusing to quit, even though he was competing against some of the best players around. Knickman also had a 33.5 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle and bench pressed 185 lbs 26 times. RB's aren't typically leaders like this so Knickman is definitely a special player.

Ross Hudson (Rockwell) rocked the show during 1 on 1's en route to taking home the QB MVP. The 5'11 194 lb Hudson had a great arm, good footwork and made decisions like a pro. He also had an 8'6 broad jump and quick feet, running a 4.37 shuttle. As good as the WR's and RB's were, the Ross Hudson's of the world make them that much better.

Props must also go out to big Jared Raiford (TE MVP from Round Rock HS),  Lance Williams (LB MVP from John Horn), Alfredo Morales (OL MVP Sam Houston), and Ronnie Green (RB MVP Cedar Hill). All were outstanding players who were an integral part of one of our top combines to date.

TOP PROSPECT ANALYSIS: Connor Myers ,DL, Class of 2011

Connor Myers, Class 2011: DL, 6-0, 264, Edmund Memorial, OK

Quick Writeup:
Pure and relentless Connor Myers, has a ridiculous motor with great hands. He is very difficult to stop and as a 3 tech or Nose he could be one of the best in the class of 2011 in the southwest

Stats: 5.2 40, 25 inch vertical, 8-8 broad, 26 reps on 185 bench

Further Analysis:
Connor is a guy that when you look at him is to not know him. He is deceptive large and deceptively fast, and even more deceptively strong.  His hand speed and footwork is amazing and he has been virtually unstoppable in every combine camp he has attended. Along with Desmond Jackson of Westfield HS, I believe Connor is entrenched as one of the top DL in Texas. He is slightly shorter than the tallest of DL athletes, but he is only 16 and has all the tools to grow and become superior. he should be one of the hottest and best recruits for 2011 on DL. His motor is something that is very hard to replicate and he has it!

TOP PROSPECT ANALYSIS: Trent Martin ,LB, Class of 2011

Trent Martin, Class 2011: LB, 6-2, 219,  Jenks, OK

Trent, is one the best athletes i have seen at Linebacker in the five years i have been doing the combines. His athleticism coupled with his sick football instincts, puts his one of the Top LB's in the USA for 2011.

Further Analysis:
Ok, lets take a break from his amazing skills at LB. His wide Receiver skills are amazing. This is how good an athlete Trent is....in the 7 on 7 tournaments in the u100 southwest and the u100 Top Prospect camp, he and Kareem Jackson single handindly dominated on Offense, yes Trent could not be stopped on offense, great hands, athleticism, spacing and route running, as good as any receiver. Now back to Linebacker he is physical in bump and run with RB and can run with them athletically, he does get outrun in a flat sprint by rb's in one on one's but that is to be expected. He has great ball skills and amazing power. Plus he has a great frame for an LB, long arms, lean build but yet he carries 218 pounds when he was a soph. Trent is as good as it gets period.

TOP PROSPECT ANALYSIS: Bronson Irwin, OL, Class of 2010

Bronson Irwin, Class 2010: OL, 6-5, 322, Mustang, OK

Quick Writeup:
Bronson's footwork, technique and strength was dominant at the u100 Top Prospect Camp OL MVP. He is committed to Oklahoma and was also the NUC Tulsa OL MVP in 2008.

Further Analysis:
He is no doubt one of the best OL in the USA. His footwork is deceptively quick. He has a remarkable pass set and does a fabulous job staying square in his kick slide in order to never overcommit himself to the defensive lineman. He has amazing body control and times his punches and slides perfectly in step to give himself optimum positioning on defenders, allowing him to rarely lose against a pass rusher. With his excellent athleticism for a Big man, he zone run block remarkable well and has a great base for such a tall individual.
