High school football prospects from across the Midwest converged on Cincinnati, OH as they sought to showcase their skills in the NUC Five-Star Showcase. NUC President and CEO Dave Schuman along with NUC National Recruiting Analyst Barry Every evaluated the top players at the camp at Oak Hill High School as several players performed in hopes of improving their stock in the all-important recruiting process.
Less than 200 players were chosen for the event, where they took part in one-on-ones and various other drills, to be evaluated by the coaches. From the pool of players that participated, MVPs were chosen for each position, in addition to the one player who exemplified leadership among his peers.
Without further ado, here are the top performers:

Jacob Wood is a 6-5, 211 pound tight end from Tallenadge, OH. He's an excellent athlete, playing through injury at the showcase.

Matt Robinson is a 5-9, 172 pound cornerback from Mansfield, OH. He has good cover skill, strong and is athletic.

E.J. Jennings is a 5-10 ½, 208 pound running back from Hilliard Davidson, OH. He's a good athlete, has good hands and is fast.

Sampson Levingston is a 6-0 ½, 193 pound wide receiver from Cathedral, IN. He's a great athlete, a great playmaker and has soft hands.

Chad Heineman is a 6-3, 315 pound defensive lineman from Edgewood, OH. He's a powerful one-technique tackle who is strong and has good burst.

Corey Fitzwater is a 6-6, 269 pound offensive lineman from Scott, KY. He has a great body type and is very athletic.

Zachary Murdock is a 6-5, 285 pound offensive lineman from Dublin Coffman, OH. He has long arms, excellent range, a very good punch and is a big-time prospect.

Zach Jordan is a 6-3, 278 pound offensive lineman from Cathedral, IN. He has great feet, gives high effort, is strong and athletic.

Darius McDonald is a 5-5, 154 pound running back from Dublin Scioto, OH. The RB MVP, he's very fast, has great chance of direction skills and is a good playmaker.

Kevin Brown, the Leadership Award winner, is a playmaking safety at 5-10, 198 from Pike, IN. He is strong, has a great ball skills and is very physical - a true SS prospect.

Brad Weber is a 6-3, 280 pound offensive lineman from Ryle, KY. He's very strong, has good balance and structure and has excellent power.

Thaddeus Snodgrass is a 6-1, 173 pound wide receiver from Springfield, OH. He's very fast, has good hands, has a big-time frame and is excellent in-and-out of breaks.

Brandon Ehlinger is a 6-1 ½, 268 pound offensive lineman from Springfield, OH. He's very strong, athletic for his size and is an excellent center prospect.

John Stepec is a 6-3 ½, 243 pound defensive lineman from Lake Catholic, OH. He's strong, quick, has good power and great athleticism.

Alex Dalton is a 6-3 ½, 260 pound offensive lineman from Troy, OH. He's a very good athlete with a good punch and excellent balance.

Logan Dziak is a 6-3, 278 pound defensive lineman from Buckeye Valley, OH. He has excellent power, good quickness and is a big-time three-technique prospect.

Terry McLaurin is a 5-11, 171 pound wide receiver from Cathedral, IN. He's very athletic, has great hands, is a good route-runner and a spectacular playmaker.

Vinnie Palazeti is a 6-4, 304 pound offensive lineman from Flint Powers Catholic, OH. He's strong, has a good punch, has an excellent kick-slide and good recovery.

Jack Sherry is a 6-5, 233 quarterback from South Oldham, KY with a great arm, a great release and a good decision maker.

Tino Smith II is a 6-1, 206 pound QB from Guern Catholic, IN with a great arm, good drops, excellent timing and great accuracy.

J-Shun Harris II of Fishers, IN was the WR MVP at 5-6, 155. He's a tremendous router runner, has very good speed and fantastic hands.

Lucas Hamilton of Lenoir City, TN was the TE MVP at 6-5 ½, 231. He's a strong tight end with soft hands and a very good release.

Devin Smith of Grace Christian Academy, TN was the Top Underclassmen. A 6-3, 172 QB, he has fantastic drops, great speed, great delivery, very accurate and is a big-time D1 prospect.

Jacob Hyde of Clay County, KY is a true one-technique defensive lineman at 6-2, 339. He's very strong, has great power, is a great athlete and is a big-time run stopper.

Mike Tyler of Brecksville Broadview, OH was the DL MVP. At 6-5, 214, he has great speed and is a great athlete.

Anthony Gotto of Tallmadge, OH was the QB MVP. At 6-0, 212, he has great timing, a fantastic arm and release, is a great competitor, has great accuracy and makes all the throws.

Ryan Hunter of Canisius, NY was the OL MVP. At 6-4, 336, he's big, strong has good feet and great hands - competes with a nasty streak and a great frame.

Isaiah Gourdine of Farmington, OH was the DB MVP. At 6-2, 192, he's long, strong and has great ball skills.

Jordan Degreffenreed of Farmington, OH was the Overall MVP and Leadership Award winner. At 5-7, 179, he's a running back with great quickness, good hands, is fluid, strong and has a great work ethic.
