Des Arc HS' Cody Robinson brought home the Overall MVP award. The 6'0 192 lb safety was the center of attention during 1 on 1's, smothering the WR's throughout the session. Robinson is a solid athlete as well, with a 30 inch vertical, 9'8 broad jump, 4.59 shuttle and 4.59 40 to boot. Keep an eye out here.
Tommy Jackson (J.A. Fair) took action on the football field. And did he ever! At 6'2.5 326, Jackson was the OL MVP and Leadership Award winner. Jackson hustled throughout the day, used his massive size do reign supreme during 1 on 1's and tossed up 185 lbs 19 times. Coaches have to love a player like this.
Justin Hollis (Des Arc) was the best QB of the session. The strong armed 5'10.5 172 lb prospect had excellent athleticism for a Q, with a 9'2 broad jump, 4.52 shuttle and 4.5 40 in his arsenal. He is definitely a dual threat.
Cody Weaver, also from the deeply talented Des Arc HS, wrecked havoc on the offense during the individual period. Lean and mean at 5'8 152, Weaver locked down the WR's, deflected a number of passes, had a 9'1 broad jump and ran a 4.50 shuttle. He deservingly won the DB MVP and opened the eyes of many.
The wide receiver was the position of the combine, with BJ Slaughter (Searcy), Darreal Mems (J.A. Fair) and Jalen Jones (Conway) sharing the WR MVP award. All three were a bit short, but have big time talent. The trio had good hands and quick feet, powering them to the promise land during the individual period.
Arkansas' combine appears here to stay. Thankfully so.
