Durham athletes set to be Showcased Saturday!

East Chapel Hill High School will be the host of what is expected to be an exciting combine this Saturday.
In 2009, Duke bound Quantrez Stevenson, was the shining star at the combine. Stevenson is a tremendous athlete who runs a 4.4 40 and has a 32 inch vertical, can a play a number of positions and is the epitome of a student athlete.
James Fosbury (Wakefield), a 5'11 278 lb powerhouse, is a nice rising prospect. Frosbury had great technique and power, pushing the DL's around as if it were is job.
Torian Patterson (Grimsley), Ryan Mangum (Leesville Roads) and Garret "Lethal" Leathem (Middle Creek) were all notable prospects who are expected to return this weekend.
"Football in the Carolinas is definitely on the rise", said NUC President and CEO David Schuman. "Every year we return, there have been more and more kids. Naturally, more kids equals more talent."
Current 8th, 9th and 10th graders are slated to compete at 8 am, while Juniors put it all on the line 1 PM Saturday April 3. All athletes will partake in pro-style combine testing, including the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run along with  position specific drills, 1 on 1’s and 3 on 3 competitions.
