Stars Shine Bright at Belleville East HS!

The St. Louis area combine was once again a smashing hit this past weekend at neighboring Belleville East HS.

Hazelwood Central HS' DJ Cameron was the top performer of the entire event, taking home the Junior Overall MVP. The 6'0.5 166 lb wide receiver had an 8'11 broad jump, ran a 4.56 shuttle, 4.62 40 and starred during the 1 on 1's. Cameron has great hands, runs near perfect routes and simply knows how to get open, giving his QB a great target at all times. He still needs to add weight before playing at the next level on either side of the ball, but the talent is there.

RB MVP and Fastest Man award winner Tryan Carey (McCluser North) is a slick and quick running back loaded with talent. The 5'9 162 lb Carey runs a 4.44 40 and 4.52 shuttle, which powered him to big time success during the 1 on 1's. His speed also created major problems for the d-backs, who were unable to keep up with him. Carey's good hands make him a definite dual threat, as he seemingly caught the ball every time it came in his direction.

Seal "For Real" Strehl was the juniors' top QB. At 6'1 201, Strehl has excellent field vision, a good arm, nice footwork and a high IQ. He displayed quick feet during the testing, running a 4.49 shuttle, and is a good leaper, jumping 8'9 on the broad. During the 1 on 1's, Strehl put on quite a show, zipping the ball across the field as if it were nothing. His height and well rounded skills definitely put him on the map after last weekend's performance.

Holding it down on the other side of the ball was DL MVP Robert Smith, a 6'1.5 278 lb phenom. The St Pius HS standout had great strength (bench pressing 185 lbs 28 times en route to winning the Strongest Man award), is fast off the ball, had tremendous hands and is very strong.  Smith had many tough battles with the opposing linemen during the 1 on 1's, but came out on top most of the time due to his size and talent.

Star Sophomores!

John Hardin's Jeremy Harness,  a 5'7.5 171 lb wide out, took home the Overall MVP and Fastest Man awards after an exceptional all around effort. Harness was quick on his feet, fast off the line, had good hands, created a consistent target for the QB's and had a 30 inch vertical. Harness still needs a solid growth spurt in order to dominate on a consistent basis, but his talent can't be questioned.

Sawyer Conrady (Lincoln Community) dominated during the 1 on 1's, putting the offensive linemen to shame throughout his terrific day. At 6'2.5 282, Conrady has tremendous size, awesome power and had an array of moves during the individual period, earning him the DL MVP.

QB MVP winner Thomas Militello (MICDS) is an athletic QB with solid talent. At 6'2.5 173, Militello had an impressive 30.5 inch vertical, 8'6 broad jump, he threw a good ball, played with an array of confidence and kept the offense flowing during the 1 on 1's.

Fabulous Freshman!

·        QB MVP Aaron Ragusa (East Alton Wood River) is an accurate passer with a strong arm, nice footwork, and high football IQ. During the 1 on 1's, Ragusa did a great job of getting the ball in the right place at the right time and played with an array of confidence.

·        Donovan Hicks (Belleville East) took home the Combine King and Fastest Man awards. Hicks had a 30 inch vertical, 8'10 broad jump, ran a 4.64 shuttle and 4.76 40.

·        Centraila HS' Malik Scott is 5'8 205 lbs of pure power. Scott ran the ball with a mean streak, has great footwork, changes direction well for a player his size and utilizes his advantages every time he gets the ball. Scott is likely going to become a fullback and a very good one at that.

Dylan Newcomb Waynesville HS, MO 9th QB #33	Newcomb won the Leadership award. The 5'11.5 174 lber was the hardest worker on the field, is vocal, had an 8'4 broad jump and hustled as if there were no tomorrow.

Jimmy DeStefano Lafayette HS, MO 11th LB #82	DeStefano took home the LB MVP award following a sensational day at the combine. The 5'10 225 lb DeStefano had a 35.5 inch vertical, 8'6 broad jump, ran a 4.32 shuttle, bench pressed 185 lbs 27 times, covers the WR's well and works hard.

Zaire Reiph Tops North Jersey Combine!

Junior Overall MVP and Fastest Man award winner Zaire Reiph capped off a terrific weekend of football at Nutley High School with an all around dominant performance last Sunday afternoon. Coming down from St. Luke's School in Connecticut, Reiph had a 35 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.40 shuttle, 4.45 40 and bench pressed 185 lbs 16 times.

The 5'10 173 lb running back was thoroughly dominant during the 1 on 1's, wowing our coaches with his quick feet, ability to change direction, good hands and power while carrying the ball. Reiph has the makings of a star at the next level and with one year of eligibility remaining, must be on the watch list.

 Powerful linebacker Nick Rossi (Riverside) also has tremendous tools and solid size as well. The 6'0 229 lb standout bench pressed 185 lbs 25 times, had a 9'3 broad jump, ran a 4.34 shuttle and was in the zone during 1 on 1's. Rossi plays physical, has quick feet, works hard and has great instincts. His terrific all around day earned him the LB MVP and Strongest Man awards.

Quentin Collins (St. Anthony's) manned down the defensive back position during the 1 on 1 portion of the combine. Collins, 5'8 151, smothered the WR's, jammed them consistently and was physical throughout the showcase, giving the offense little to no chance to get on track. He also did a great job during the testing, as his 31.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump and 4.64 shuttle give him the necessary talents to stand out at the cornerback position.

Ascolese's Unforgettable Day

North Bergen's Vin Ascolese has starred at the combine before and is fully aware of what goes into a successful day. The hard working 6'1.5 196 lb linebacker came into the combine educated, focused and prepared, but perhaps even he couldn't predict that he would have the day he did.

Ascolese was a man amongst boys during the 1 on 1's, displaying great lock down ability, motoring non stop and working as if there were no tomorrow, putting the offense to shame in the process. He also had an 8'4 broad jump and ran a 4.26 shuttle while claiming the Overall MVP in the process.

At 6'6.5 281, Chris Muller is a defensive lineman's worst nightmare. He is athletic (8'4 broad jump), quick (4.79 shuttle), strong (185 lbs 21 times) and fast, giving no opportunity for the opposing lineman to break past him. Mueller put on a clinic during the 1 on 1's, shutting down the defensive lineman as if it were nothing. Between his size and skill, Muller should be able to make it a long way.

Return stars Elijah Shumate (Don Bosco Prep) and Denzell Leitch (Xaviern) both came up big at the combine, sharing the DB MVP award. The talented and torturous duo provided further frustrations for the offense, jamming the WR's and staying on top of them like white on rice. Both also tested well, putting up stellar numbers in the broad jump, shuttle run and 40 yard dash.

A Dunn Deal

Abraham Clark's Derrick Dunn is still a few years away from selecting a college but it was quite evident that he is going to make it to the next level after earning the Freshman Overall MVP with an all around sensational performance. The 5'9 149 lb Dunn had an 8'6 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle, 4.60 40 and was nothing short of spectacular during the 1 on 1's. Dunn runs with power, is quick on his feet, has good all around strength and nice moves.

QB MVP Antonio Natale of Immaculata HS is a dominant player with great control of the offense. Natale controlled the pace of the game on a consistent basis, threw a good ball, has a tremendous football IQ and is just about everything a coach could ask for. At 6'0.5 185, Natale also had an 8'3 broad jump and bench pressed 155 lbs 21 times. Few, if any, freshman have the in game control that he does.

Jared Mincey J.P. Stevens HS, NJ 9th CB/S #29	Mincey was awarded the DB MVP. The 5'7 135 lb Mincey ran a 4.50 shuttle, has good hands, nice hips, solid technique and wrecked havoc on the offense during 1 on 1's.
Tashawn Bower Immaculata HS, NJ 9th DL #87	Bower was crowned Combine King after powering his way through the day's work. The 6'5 210 lb d-lineman had a 30 inch vertical, 8'7 broad jump and ran a 4.51 shuttle.
Jarel Elder Parkland HS, PA 9th RB #60	Elder, 5'5 131, took home the RB MVP award. Elder's 8'9 broad jump, 4.46 shuttle, 4.62 40, 19 reps at 135 lbs on the bench press and good all around skills definitely made up for his lack of size.

Antonio Garcia Randolph HS, NJ 10th RB #75	Garcia, 5'10 190, was awarded the RB MVP. Garcia had a 9'2 broad jump, ran a 4.53 shuttle, bench pressed 155 lbs 24 times, transitions smoothly, is quick on his feet and consistently got open during the 1 on 1's.
Chris Muller Boyertown HS, PA 10th OL #140	A monster of the midway at 6'6.5 281, Muller won the OL MVP. The gigantic Muller had an 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.79 shuttle, bench pressed 185 lbs 21 times, has a great punch, nice footwork and is physical. He has all it takes to become a star.
Elijah Shumate Don Bosco Prep, NJ 10th S #19	Shumate took home DB MVP honors. Starring at the NUC for a second consecutive year, the 5'11.5 186 lb Shumate had an 8'10 broad jump, ran a 4.41 shuttle, 4.52 40,bench pressed 155 lbs 19 times and is a great lockdown defender.

Elijah St. Hilaire Palisades Park HS, NJ 10th WR #16	St. Hilaire was a top performer as a sophomore even though he competed against the juniors. The 5'9 157 lb St. Hilaire had a 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.42 shuttle, 4.54 40, ran great routes and could have won the WR MVP had he played with the sophomores.

Cory Conforth Wayne Valley HS, NJ 10th OL #137	Conforth, 5'9 237, was the co-Strongest Man award winner. Conforth bench pressed 185 lbs an astronomical 42 times.
Giovanni Viven New Britain HS, CT 10th LB #93	Viven won the Leadership award and LB MVP. The hard working 5'10 206 lber had an 8'0 broad jump, ran a 4.31 shuttle, is vocal, leads by example and played with passion during the 1 on 1's.
John Sieczkowski Manalapan HS, NJ 10th LB #22	Sieczkowski, 6'0 189, was the strongest position skill player, bench pressing 155 lbs 45 times.
Stacy Bedell Williams Floyd HS, NY 10th RB #93	Bedell won the Fastest Man award. The 5'9 154 lb speed demon ran a 4.49 40, 4.38 shuttle, had a 32.5 inch vertical, and 8'10 broad jump.

NORTH JERSEY, NJ 11th grade NUC Schuman’s Outstanding Performance List
Zaire Reiph St. Luke's School, CT 11th RB #97	Reiph took home the Overall MVP and Fastest Man awards following a terrific day. The 5'10 173 lb Reiph had a 35 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.40 shuttle, 4.45 40, bench pressed 185 lbs 16 times and starred during 1 on 1's.
Nick Rossi Riverside HS, PA 11th LB #102	Rossi, 6'0 229, won the LB MVP and Strongest Man awards. Rossi bench pressed 185 lbs 25 times, had a 9'3 broad jump, ran a 4.34 shuttle and did a terrific job during 1 on1 's.
Kevin Borden Freehold Township HS, NJ 11th LB #86	Borden earned the co-LB MVP after a solid day on the football field. The 5'11 199 lb Borden had an 8'1 broad jump, ran a 4.38 shuttle, was strong, fast and powerful during 1 on 1's.
Quentin Collins St. Anthony's HS, NJ 11th CB #36	Collins was awarded the DB MVP. The 5'8 151 lb Collins had a 31.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.64 shuttle, is coachable and works hard.
Kareem Jackson Jonathan Dayton HS, NJ 11th DL #90	Jackson earned the DL MVP. The 6'2 244 lb standout had an 8'5 broad jump, is quick for a lineman, has a good motor and uses his hands well.
Christian Wortman Jonathan Dayton HS, NJ 11th DL #91	Wortman was the co-DL MVP. Undersized but very talented, the 6'2 196 lb Wortman had an 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.69 shuttle, is athletic, plays with a ton of enthusiasm and is strong.
Aaron Williams Jonathan Dayton HS, NJ 11th WR #47	Williams won the WR MVP award. At 6'1 187, Williams had a 30 inch vertical, 8'7 broad jump, ran a 4.61 shuttle, has terrific size, uses his hands well and knows how to position himself to make catches.
Tyler Speziale Ramapo HS, NJ 11th WR #108	Speziale was named co-WR MVP. At 5'11 189, Speziale had a 31 inch vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a blazing 4.16 shuttle, 4.60 40 and made some great catches during 1 on 1's.
Daishon Munger Holy Cross HS, NJ 11th RB #53	Munger was the co-RB MVP. The 5'8 152 lber had a 9'2 broad jump, ran a 4.40 shuttle, 4.59 40, has terrific speed, works hard in drills and catches the ball like a pro.
Edward Blair Ridgewood HS, NJ 11th RB #20	Blair was the co-RB MVP. The 5'10 186 lb standout had an 8'4 broad jump, ran a 4.77 40, has good hips and did well during drills.
Rashad Kyte Reading HS, OH 11th RB #47	Kyte, 5'8 182, had a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.42 shuttle, 4.63 40 and bench pressed 185 lbs 17 times.
Anthony LiGregni Bergen Catholic HS, NJ 11th QB #65	LiGregni won the QB MVP and Leadership awards. A talented player with a good head on his shoulders, LiGregni had an 8'8 broad jump, ran a 4.18 shuttle, is an accurate passer, throws a decent ball and is vocal.
James Coscia East Stroudsburg HS, PA 11th DL #114	Coscia, 6'3 205, was crowned Combine King following an admirable day. Coscia had a 33 inch vertical, 9'6 broad jump, rana  4.19 shuttle, 4.75 40 and bench pressed 185 lbs 17 times.
Tyler Coyle West Milford HS, NJ 11th TE #98	Coyle, 6'2 210, won the TE MVP. Coyle ran a 4.50 shuttle, has a great frame, good hands, knows how to use his size and is a well rounded tight end.
Wenner Nunes Kearny HS, NJ 11th OL #139	Nunes, 6'3 255, won the OL MVP award. Nunes is an outstanding blocker, had an impressive 8'3 broad jump and plays physical.
Perry Joyner Dwight Morrow HS, NJ 11th OL #140	Joyner was the co-OL MVP. A monstrous 6'1.5 353 lbs, Joyner used his tremendous size to neutralize the opposing linemen and had terrific feet.
