Tabuyo, 5’10.5 166, had an 8’7 broad jump, ran a 4.32 shuttle, 4.51 50 and starred during 1 on 1’s. If Hawaii continues to produce players like Tabuyo, expect to see recruiters coming over in hula necklaces!

Jacob Lacade

LB #30
Lacade, 5’8 162, won the 8th Grade and LB MVP. Ladace had an 8’1 broad jump, rna a 4.48 shuttle, led by example and did a great job during 1 on 1’s.

Malik Lockett
Kapolei HS, HI
9th
WR #15
Lockett took home the WR MVP after a solid day on the gridiron. At 5’9 135, Lockett ran a 4.32 shuttle, had great hands and ran solid routes during 1 on 1’s.

Keanu Kaira
Kapoki HS, HI
9th
WR #18
Karia, 5’4.5 137, was the DB MVP award winner. Kariya played with great intensity and wrecked havoc on the offense during 1 on 1’s.

Reeve Koehler
Saint Louis HS, HI
9th
OL #98
A monstrous 6’3 279 lber, Koehler won the OL MVP and Strongest Man award. Koehler bench pressed 155 lbs 28 times, had a 29 inch vertical, had great power during 1 on 1’s and was very coachable. I don’t believe I have ever seen a freshman as physical as Koehler.

Jarrin Young
Kailua HS, HI
9th
RB #14
Young may be exactly that but after taking home the RB MVP, he showed why his future looks very bright. At 5’7 153, Young had an 8’4 broad jump, ran a 4.48 shuttle and displayed terrific quickness during 1 on 1’s.

Justin Tago
James Campbell HS, HI
9th
QB #20
Tago, 5’8 140, won the QB MVP. Tago had very good accuracy, impressive arm strength for a freshman and good fundamentals.

Solomon Leatno
Campbell HS, HI
9th
LB #59
Leatno, 5’8 177, picked up the Leadership award. Leatno kept the other players fired up and hustled throughout the event. He was a pleasure to coach and would be an asset to any team.

Keoni Piceno
Saint Louis HS, HI
9th
WR #57
Piceno was crowned Combine King. At 5’4 135, Piceno ran a 4.49 shuttle, bench pressed 135 lbs 18 and did a nice job during 1 on 1’s. Saint Louis HS sure looks like king of the island!

NUC HAWAII-Sophomores and Juniors Star at the Aloha Bowl!

Sophomores and Juniors Star at the Aloha Bowl!

Much like in the earlier session, Saint Louis HS produced multiple standouts at the Honolulu Combine.

Duke Bukoski took home the Overall MVP. The 5’11.5 194 lb junior had tremendous athleticism, jumping  a 9’3 on the broad along with a 35.5 inch vertical, 4.31 shuttle run and 4.6 40. Bukoski also starred during 1 on 1’s, grabbing a number of difficult passes. He is a terrific prospect at WR.

Bukoski’s teammate Marcus Mantola had a day for the ages, taking home an unprecedented three awards. Manota won the Combine King, QB MVP and Fastest Man, something that has never been done to our knowledge. An elite prospect at 6’2.5 183, Mariota had a 30.5 inch vertical, 9’6 broad jump, ran a 4.24 shuttle, 4.48 40 and put on a clinic during 1 on 1’s. Manota zipped the ball right into his receivers’ hands, moved very well, had a strong arm and an impressive IQ. I would be shocked to see a dual threat QB like this get overlooked.

Word of Life Academy’s Juda Parker was the top OL. He was athletic for a big man (8’7 broad jump/4.51 shuttle) and simply didn’t budge during 1 on 1’s. At 6’1.5 238, he is quick and strong enough to make a major difference anywhere.

Visa Thach, a sophomore out of Auburn Mountainside HS in the state of Washington, was a surprise participant in Hawaii, but nobody was shocked to see him win an award. Thach, powerfully built at 5’7 223, won the FB MVP after bench pressing 155 lbs 31 times, running a 4.61 shuttle and wowing our coaches during the individual period. We are really high on Thach. Very few, if any, sophomore skill position players are built like him.

Noah “Randy Moss” Makainai took home the WR MVP award and deservingly so. The James B. Castle HS standout had a 35 inch vertical, 8’8 broad jump, ran a 4.34 shuttle, 4.60 40 and was able to juke the defenders during 1 on 1’s. His ability to get open and shake a defender is second to none.

The talent in Hawaii proves yet again why big things can come in small packages (or Islands)

Jaylen Jordan
Elkins HS, TX

Jordan had a 30.5 inch vertical, 8’11 broad jump, ran a 4.44 shuttle and thoroughly dominated during 1 on 1’s. Just like the Jordan we all know, Jaylen is a rare breed from a DL standpoint.

Yates HS, TX

LB #66

NUC Miami-Juniors Highly Impressive in Miami!

A plethora of talented juniors were showcased last weekend at Cooper City HS for the Miami Area combine. Topping off the talent deep session and (the entire weekend for that matter) was American Heritage HS'
Andrew Flores. The 5'11 164 Flores had a 9'0 broad jump, ran a 4.27 shuttle and
was easily the best player during the 1 on 1's. His ability to get his hands on
the ball and get open were simply tremendous.

Imaaculata Lasalle's Courtney Moshood was another standout who could virtually do it all from the wideout spot, thus earned the WR MVP. The 5'9 155 lb Moshood ran a 4.10 shuttle, 4.45 40, had a 32.5 inch
vertical, 9'2 broad jump and was throughly dominant during 1 on 1's. Although
he is undersized, Moshood has all that a coach could ask for from an athletic
standpoint.

Flores' teammate Nestor Lantigua, 5'10 164, starred all around for the second consecutive year. Laintigua won the coveted Combine King and RB MVP awards. Laintuga tore up the testing portion of the combine,
with a 32.5 inch vertical, 9'9 broad jump, 4.17 shuttle run and 4.45 40. his
quickness and athleticism enabled him to perform at a high level.

Darryl "Lockdown" Brown of Miami American HS was a terrific DB, taking home the MVP at the position along with Monsignor Pace's Anthony Samuel. Brown, 5'9 150, and Samuel, 5'11.5 171, were both fast
and athletic defensive backs who stuck to the WR's like white on rice.

While some of the WR's were tremendous, it takes a QB like La Salle's Rafi Montalvo. The 5'11 186 lb Montalvo has terrific feet and accuracy, zipping the ball downfield as if it were easy.

Miami once again proved to be a hotbed for football talent. I can only imagine what the NUC will see next year.

NUC Miami-Sophomores Star at Cooper City High School!

Ryan Janvion of Dade Christian School topped a group of tremendous Miami area athletes Saturday afternoon at Cooper City HS. Janvion won both the Combine King and Overall MVP (something that is rarely, if ever
done) after putting toegther a stunning performance. Janvion had a 38.5 inch
vertical, 10'4 broad jump, ran a 3.99 shuttle, 4.58 40 and bench pressed 155
lbs 20 times. While his statistics were ballistic, what he did during 1 on 1's
were even more unbelievable.

This ridiculously talented 5'10 169 lb running back was a monster during 1 on 1's using his athleticism, quickness, perfectly ran routes and solid hands to simply put him in a league of his own. I can only
imagine the kind of offers he will get in a few years.

University School's Abraham Garcia literally looked like a man amongst boys. Torres, a massive 6'4 339 lb machine, took home the OL MVP and Strongest Man awards while competing with the junios. He bench pressed
185 lb 29 times, had unprecedented quickness for a player his size (he ran 4.9
shuttle), and had tremendous hands, which helped him dominate the opposing
linemen during 1 on 1's. I would be shocked if Garcia didn't end up at a big
time program in the future

Vitually matching Garcia was 6'3 329 lb Danny Isdora of Cypress Bay HS. Isdora was a monster during the 1 on 1's and like Garcia, whom he shared the OL MVP with, had surprising quickness for a player his size.
Something about 16 year old kids having NFL type size is scary to me in a good
way.

St. Thomas Aquinas' Joseph McClary, the Fastest Man award winner, looks like he has what it takes to be a star kickoff returner. McCary, who plays for one of the best programs in the country, ran a 4.27
shuttle, 4.51 40 and also had a 9'5 broad jump. Sure he is undersized at 5'6.5
136, but if you can't catch him does it really matter?

Silmoje Dallaway, 6'0 217 lb LB MVP from Park Vista HS, and Kevis Jones, 6'1.5 195 lb QB MVP were each terrific athletes who gave it their all on the gridiron. Between Jones' accuracy and Dallaway's emergence
during 1 on 1's along with many other great players in this session, there
really isn't much more I could ask for.

Miami NUC-Freshman Fab Five-national underclassmen football combine

In 1992-1993, the University of Michigan's men's basketball team had a star studded lineup known as the "Fab 5", which included future NBA all stars Chris Webber, Jalen Rose and Juwan Howard along with Jimmy King
and Ray Jackson. This famed squad reached the NCAA championship game as both
freshman and sophomores, which is simply unheard of. Last weekend at Cooper
City HS, A number of terrific freshman took center stage at the Miami area
combine. Here are the NUC's Fab 5.

· Alex Garcia: A 5'7.5 164 lb running back from First Bapist Academy, Garcia won the Combine King award after putting up
jaw dropping numbers for a frosh. Garcia had a 32 inch vertical, 9'4 broad
jump, ran a 4.47 shuttle and bench pressed 135 lbs 21 times. Athletes like these
are quite rare and his athleticism could lead him to play a number of different
positions, making him a versatile asset like Jalen Rose.

· Bryant Gross of Archbishop McCarthy HS won the coveted Overall MVP award. The 5'11 175 lb safety had an 8'3 broad
jump, ran a 4.36 shuttle, 4.64 40 and was tremendous during 1 on 1's. He had
quick feet, a physical style, great attitude and simply refused to let the
offense get going during 1 on 1's. As the best player at the event and the
biggest asset to his team, Gross is essentially the Chris Webber of the
combine.

· Hunter Boyett of Gulliver Prep HS, the QB MVP, was willing to mix it up during 1 on 1's and gun the ball downfield.
The 5'10 165 lb Boyett was strong, had solid fundamentals and is a great asset
to getting a team going since he has many dimensions to his game, much like
Juwan Howard did (prior to injuries in the NBA I must add).

· WR MVP Demario Hayes did what he had to in order to ensure that whenever the ball is in his hands, good things can
happen. Undersized at 5'3.5 116, Haynes had an 8'0 broad jump, ran a 4.47
shuttle and had tremendous technique during 1 on 1's, making him a threat to
score any time he got the ball. Ray Jackson? I think so!

· Fort Myers' Malik Outten, 5'11 173, the LB MVP, displayed why he is the type of player who can keep a team together at
the defensive end. Outten did a tremendous job of closing the gap and looks to
be a tackle machine. His aggressiveness also makes him a threat to force a
fumble or make an interception. Fumbles in football are somewhat equivalent to
steals in basketball, therefore Outten is the Jimmy King of this stacked
session.

The NUC: Breaking Grounds in New Mexico
By Matt Yanofsky of nationalunderclassmen.com

The National Underclassmen Combine hits New Mexico for the first time this February, providing athletes from the Land of Enchantment a world of opportunity.
National Prospect Matt Hegarty plans to attend this weekend's event.
Participants will showcase their athletic talents in the 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, vertical leap, and shuttle run. In addition to the official combine testing, athletes partake in individual period, including drills, 1 on 1's, 3 on 3's, and other position oriented competitions.
The combine takes place February 27th at the Blades Multiplex Arena in Rio Rancho, with 8th and 9th graders hitting the field at 8 am, while the sophomores and juniors have the chance to shine at 1 o'clock. Although the NUC hadn't previously hosted a New Mexico combine, the state has produced some top tier talent.
Aztec HS' Matt Hegarty was one of the very best to grind it out on the gridiron in '09. At 6'6 260, Hegarty was the #1 rated sophomore lineman at the exclusive Top Prospect Camp. Hegarty took home a number of awards at the camp and is fielding offers from Arizona and Stanford amongst many other schools.
"The prospects of finding another the next Matt Hegarty is very exciting", said NUC CEO and President David Schuman. "On a state level, New Mexico has been moving up in terms of quality players, so having the opportunity to guide players with college potential is something I look forward to."
While the majority of high schoolers aren't 6'6 260, hard work and the eagerness to get better at the combine has helped guide athletes to the next level time and time again.
Athletes can sign up for the New Mexico combine on www.nationalunderclassmen.com or call 1-888-NUC-MVP-1 for more details.
